Really? When he signed, I thought he was the most stereotypical Pulis player he ever bought!
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

He is for sure but I just didn't see him making this big an impact and playing as well so consistently. It had been a long time since he really performed at that level, i.e. his honeymoon period with Sunderland in early 2012. I was happy he got the move to West Brom, I just didn't see it going this well this quickly. Long may it continue.

Straight red. To paraphrase Paul O'Shea, he's been a red card waiting to happen.

Did you hear anything else Charlie? Deserved, harsh, etc?

They have just elaborated on that to 'stupidly sent off for a callous foul'

I would imagine it was harsh, the tackle that is, not see it yet though

James McClean (West Bromwich Albion) is shown the red card for violent conduct.

Probably fair enough. He connected with Smith's shin with studs up, even if the Bournemouth player did make a meal of it.

James will need to stamp it out. He's been a bit rash in the tackle of late. Is Pulis encouraging his aggression?

Hopefully Pulis sorts James out. This was gust going to happen. The Refs were probably just waiting for their chance. James just had to hand them the opportunity.

If he continues in this manner then he is just too much of a risk to have on our team.

Not that different to other "challenges" that he has got away with. He better learn or……. ???

I think Pulis might be advocating a more controlled aggression style, yes.

Picture him doing that ten minutes into a game at the Euros.

Rondon lost the rag, might take the heat off McClean a bit.

But seriously it is just a badly timed challenge, yellow card maybe, but red???

If that ref does not get his act together he will be joining Mourinho on the dole.

It was a shocking tackle. He had lost the rag a few moments earlier and had set out to get him, with or without getting the ball first. As seanfhear says, he is a risk to pick in a big game if he can't control himself.

It is a bit odd he seem to have a go at the same player earlier on and made out he had fouled
him, but it looked to me as if McClean had trod on his foot not the other way around.
Still at least it was not Arter!!

Yeah this might be a good lesson for him though and better for it to cost West Brom than us. He obviously didn't learn from his close shaves so hopefully this will have the desired effect. Martin O'Neill was talking about it on Goals on Sunday.

Despite what I said earlier I think McClean was fouled earlier and the ref gave nothing, granted it was hard to see what happened.

All in all I think it should have been yellow.

The MOTD commentator was surprised when he got red.

But anyway, he got closer to the ball then Roy Keane did.
