Okay, I took it one step further as regards the expression of this hatred. As we know, the supporters that hate McClean for not wearing a poppy don't shout stuff like "Where's your effing poppy? Eff you for not wearing a poppy!" Maybe some do shout stuff like that!

Funny turn of events as Michael O'Neill becomes James' new club manager at Stoke.

He might take off the IFA cap now so it may not impact one jot.

O’Neill has been a very good manager for Northern Ireland and Shamrock Rovers so hopefully he can improve James . Its a great opportunity for O’Neill because pretty much the only way is up for Stoke .

Fairly soft comments from Breen and Hunt see McClean go in over the ball with the studs showing. I do enjoy him though.

He's his own solo choir singing 'we all dream of a team of James McCleans'. For most us that kind of dream involves waking up and refusing to turn off the light until the noinster comes out from under the bed!

And as for having a go at Stephen Hunt for his mediocre career: quiz question - which of the two wingers actually won a medal in the UK?

Give him a platform and he's like a poor man's Roy Keane at this stage.

Surely Breen and Hunt are big enough and old enough and ugly enough to be able to take a bit of stick off James McClean. It annoys me, if pundits are able to dish to out but not take some back. We will see how it pans out.

There is a lot more to James interview in the Derry Journal than the 42 website has reported. He talks in depth about Kenny himself and the team.

He name drops more than once your lad Molumbuy at Millwall(?) as a player he expects Kenny to elevate straight away and says from playing against him he thinks he is top class.

Not sure if full interview is on the horrendous Derry Journal website, I will try out a photo of it up tomorrow if not.
