Dundalk were similar odds last season.Brought in Quigley and Byrne and next thing, BOOM !!!- 8/1.

It will be a while before Division 1 is available. Have to figure out who the teams are first!

Pats are 11/1 without a manager or a single player.

Monaghan 150-1, worth a euro :P....it'll be Rovers again I'd reckon with Shels and Cork making a good go at it.

i think Sligo are not a good bet as they will lose a lot of players.. see Iarlaith Davoren and Richie Ryan are strongly linked with a switch to Dundee Utd as they had a scout at the cup final and were deeply impressed.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

Cork or Shels each way seems the best value I reckon. Shels will hoover up a fair few established Dublin based players, Alan Mathews is well regarded by most players.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Shels were very impressive in the cup final, but that was one game. They need to replace a lot of players to have a chance of even mid table. FD players score goals for fun, as saw with Philly Hughes ourselves, he struggles above that level. You need experience and level heads to play in the PD, not sure if their current team is any better than UCD, and especially over a full season. Also Drogs are a better side with a much improved manager that those odds suggest. As for us, who knows, like Dodge said re Pats, no manager and no idea what team we will have.

Dodge , is Mahon def leaving Pats, he has been heavily linked with us, might be a guy to shake things up a bit.

They were good against Pats in the semi final too. They will need to strengthen a fair bit but I expect them to sign some good players.

You seriously must be having a laugh, both ourselves and Cork had comfortably better sides than UCD, Dundalk, Bray and Bohs. That top 4 from last year may well be the top 4 again next year, and ourselves and Cork will have to strengthen to compete with those sides but as we are now, I'm more than confident, I'm absolutely sure that ourselves and Cork (in whichever order) are the 5th and 6th best teams in the Premier Division before the player/manager merry-go-round takes place and reshapes things.

You weren't better than Bohs, and you didnt have a better squad tha Dundalk (who had the worst manager in the league)

I'm kinda confused by all this Cork and Shels chat for the league next year. I'll be surprised if either get in the top 3 next season. Both teams have to strengthen considerably if they have aspirations of winning the league. They'll comfortably stay up next year without doubt but anything above 5th place will be a fantastic season for both.
You only have to look at how much Derry had to strengthen this year to finish where they did.

And Monaghan will win the double next year.

Not a chance are Shels or Cork better than UCD, Dundalk or Bohs.

I'd probably say cork and shels where better than, Galway, Drogheda, UCD. Barring a few players they'd be level enough with Dundalk and Bray and not that far behind the rest.

I dunno how you can make that assumption yet, we have no team or manager!
