Thumbs down Paul McLaughlin = Brutal Ref

Thanks be to the lord god above City got out of the first inspite of Paul McLaughlin who reffed the game v Shels in Tolka. Man, that goes down as one of the worst performances i have ever seen. So so so cringeworthingly bad, no amount of horror tomorrow night will compare to it. Please for the love of fairness, pity, mercy ever let him don the black for a LOI game again. He is everything that is wrong with our game and is what gives people reason to stay away.

If you ever wonder what makes it hard to get fans in the door or get sponsorship for your club then think of Paul McLaughlin and how he is crippling our game.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

The standard of referees in the first division is appalling.

Don't think I'll ever complain about a premier division ref again... (I so will)

I thought First Divison refs were better than Premier, last year.

Irish League refs are better still.

We've only had him a couple of times this year but I thought he was one of the better ones.

Ha, that's a terrible decision. From the games I remember this season he was very poor as well. Remember him sending off 2 of our players when it never was a red in either case and made a shocking penalty decision in a game as well.

I’m not pedantic...I’m merely overly concerned with minute details.

I wonder is there more footage of the game anyway, maybe from ShelsTV, just to highlight how poor this guy is. I actually think that Graham Cummins did the guy a huge favour in scoring because people were getting very ticked off with his performance. If it stayed one all i think there might have been hassle.

Paul McLaughlin was excellent refereeing the game between Rovers and UCD in the Showgrounds last night.
