I just saw on their website (As usual!) that a Nantes selection that will include their experienced defender Pascal Delhommeau and new signing Julio Caceres (Won't play against us as his registration has yet to go through!) will play a benefit match (Reseach against cerebral tumors!) against fellow French 1st Division side Stade Rennes on Saturday 17th at 6 p.m. That's right ... about 24 hours before the City game! Either they are very cocky, very good, or very unimpressed with Intertoto matches!"

a case of underestimating us I wonder???
Lets hope its a bruising encounter and they sustain lots of injuries to key players

Or that there's a big fat benefit dinner with gallons of wine afterwards and all the players get tanked up

nantes smallest league crowd last season was just over 26000. they have lost about half of their first team from last season, including pretty much all of their strikers. that said, they probably have the strongest youth academy in france, so don't expect any young guys to be a pushover either. gonna be tough. a 2-1 defeat would not be the end of the world, but i'm hoping for a 1-1

If this charity game is on saturday night, I take it that City won't have access for a training session at any stage that evening.

Well eventhough Malmo played their best available team they clearly underestimated City & didn't treat too seriously - don't why didn't just play fringe players then... They paid the price too.

Nijmegen clearly prepared properly & didn't underestinate City but didn't do them much good either.

Be surprised if Nantes underestimate City as they've surely seen the results to date.

Worse thing for us could be if they play youth players who want to impress. We're better off against first teamers who're out for a pre-season friendly and before they know it they're trailing 0-3

They've some fcukin cheek if they've organised a game for the day b4 our one.I hope we flippin kill the c**ts if thats the case.

Although a score draw would be very acceptable and when they come to the cross the 12th man that is the shed will get us through(with a little help from the 11 superstars on the pitch).

Who's bringing the Cross to France?

Part of an exchange with a French boy on Citynet

Here is the players [the squad that was announced-tiktok] you may see on sunday :

Radic, Grondin, Thébaux – Drouin, Fae, Da Rocha, Capoue, Berson, Quint, Savinaud, Toulalan, Ahamada, Glombard, Hadjadj, Guillon, Stinat, Leray et Paillères.

So that should be the starting line-up : [Grondin is goalie, ahamada upfront, reverse to how we'd have it - tiktok]
    ____________Ahamada______________
    __Quint_________________Da Rocha___
    _________Fae_____Toulalan__________
    ____________Berson_________________
    __Stinat__Guillon___Drouin___Leray____
    ____________Grondin________________

Really, you'll have a chance. Our defence is incredibly unexperienced for this game : Stinat and Leray never played a single minute in a professionnal match, Drouin played 10 matches in his beginning career, and Guillon, 19 matches.

Berson is a typical defensive midfielder, just in front of the defense. It is the only role he ever had in Nantes : pick the balls and starting the movements. When he is in good condition he is truly the basis of our game (but that did not happen really often during the two last seasons).
They've rested a few players too that would be considered first team, especially the goalie and a few defenders, most of their attacking options went over the summer, though they rate DaRocha and Quint highly. Could be a pretty empty stadium with the Rebel army roaring our boys on, hope it lifts them to come home with something.
