He should go somewhere where they try to play good football.
Not the UK.
Or whenever a club wants. Ya forgot his contract had ended by when the transfer window normally opens/season ends.
I'm a bloke,I'm an ocker
And I really love your knockers,I'm a labourer by day,
I **** up all me pay,Watching footy on TV,
Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away

I keep getting told this, but I don't see it.
Perhaps my standards are just a bit higher.
I'd like to think that he'll still end up at a top-flight side. He has ability.
Steve Bruce's Newcastle apparently
Shame.

Who knows, maybe he could do well there under Bruce provided the latter keeps his job. Either way he wasn't pulling up any trees at Burnley.
Good move for him. Hopefully he will get some decent game time because he lost his way at Burnley after a good start and it has gone stale. There is a half decent midfielder in there somewhere - no,. 8 type.
I used to slag of Bruce abit but he's actually a decent manager esp last season. Plus Newcastle are probably better than Milan anyway!
At Euro 2016 I thought he'd pushed on to another level. Sadly it seems he was playing above his actual level. Hopefully the change of scenery helps rejuvenate his career. In his defense, I don't think the brand of football during the O'Neill era or with Burnley really played to his strengths.
Not convinced the situation will be exceptionally different at Newcastle but to be fair they do have some nice footballers there.
Looks to be all wrapped up now.
https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2020...our-year-deal/Republic of Ireland midfielder Jeff Hendrick is bound for St James's Park after signing for Newcastle United on a four-year deal.
You can't spell failure without FAI
So... a season in the Premier League, two in the Championship, and the final one back up in the EPL
Such an underwhelming transfer. When the likes of Milan was mentioned I hoped he would look to the continent.
How many Irish Players have had good times playing for Newcastle = Shay Given that I can think of ! !
