    Cool national league

The report in the star does not help the womens game.Everyone involved in football that had players that were interested in playing in the league made sure the deadline was met.The reason we questioned how everything was set up is so a disaster could be avoided. When the powers that be decide to exclude every club side in the country and only inform an elite few things go very wrong.Word is a few teams were caught cold especially in the west.PLUS a lot of parents are very angry with girls expected to travel up to 3 hours at a time to train and play with a new league side so they might get an international call up.
    ITS GOOD TO TALK.

Registration issue could have been sorted by simply starting the league on the 4th of Dec
something that has been planned for years is rushed in

Great win for Celtic yesterday 5-1 well worth the win over an average Rovers side. Played some great football in front a crowd around 150-200. U12 girls who won the Mayo Cup the day before where introduced to the crowd at half-time with their league and cup trophies.

That cup..ran by the mayo womens league...what was that cup comp called? That other point, bit like the player of the match in an u16 cup final for a club in mayo last season and then playing for a different club the following week in an u17 comp. Oh, and no record of any clubs contacting the fai regarding complaints of wnl. Defo prove of a mayo offical doing it though....

It’s the Mary Walsh Cup. With regard to U16 Girls Cup Final that would be run by the Mayo Youths while the U17 Girls League was run by the Mayo Women’s League (bit of a power struggle there for players reg etc). Don’t know the clubs or player you refer to but if the player was transferred with in the competition rules where is the problem? What Mayo official contacted the FAI and under what mandate was he told to do so re WNL

Read the WNL match report on the Rovers web site; don’t know who could say the game was played on a poor surface. The pitch was in great shape yes it did cut in the centre circle due to the heavy rain we had all week and it was soft underfoot but that’s winter football. The football played by the Celtic team was just outstanding everything played through midfield at pace and the one touch football was great to watch and wasn’t hindered by the so called poor surface. We were all very disappointed with Rovers when they arrived with their home kit and forcing us to play in our away. I know it’s a small point but for a club of Rovers standing I taught it was poor form on their part.

Nice to see that a Mayo club is finally in a league ran properly by people who know what they are doing....and have proper spelling and grammar maybe?!.And the WNL will improve standards all over the west especially in Mayo. Obviously rasper has a problem with that!

Great result for Celtic today with so many players missing, which shows the strength in depth in the squad. A different level next week when the favourites come to town and no doubt will be smarting from today’s surprise result.
