There may have been better days, but I can't remember them.
The league is going to be some downer after this........
that was some occasion. the crowd and atmosphere was unbelivable.
we truly are the biggest club in ireland, we're only going to get bigger

the greatest day........ yes!!!!!!!!
Someone please answer this question -
- Why would someone want to play for Port Vale, Perterborough, Macclesfield, or any other two bit English club when you can have WEEKS like this. When have any of their players even come close to days like this?
Think long and hard Flynny, my son, before you make any moves next season.
THE PARTY IS ONLY BEGINING.
Irish by birth,
Cork by the grace of God.

How can an away trip to Longford or wherever ever compare to an away trip to Malmo/Copenhagen or Holland or Nantes?
Folks, enjoy this European odessey. It is the greatest period in my time supporting City (and that's a long time), everyone has got to go to Nantes next week and support the lads.... who knows what might happen!!
Champions!
The whole DAY was brilliant. Before and after the match City fans were more excited than ever. Brilliant buzz in all the pubs and even on the streets(although the singing didnt really take off in the Beer Garden!). The sun even came out for the 90 minutes of the match. Record number of people ringing in sick, id say!!!!!!
still ****ed in work just asked for time off next week for nantes and got shot down reeking now
Eskimos pussys are very cold.......
The Greatest Day?
Definitely one of the greatest days in the history of the club.
However as a spectacle it was the greatest day in the history of club soccer in this country. The colour - the sunshine - the shed - the singing - but most of all and most importantly - the quality of football was magnificent. The barstool brigade just look silly in my mind now. i have no problem saying that at full time i was nearly in tears - it was really special. Pat Dolan deserves a lot of credit and the backgorund staff have done a great job.
I have a few thoughts that are worth debating imo:
1. Is the league challenge now dead in the water? Or is the squad big enough?
2. turners Cross - if the club becomes successful and days like yesterday become the norm is turners cross too small?
3. Dolan for Lord Mayor?
4. Lennox for President?

1. the league isnt dead but it will be extremely hard to catch ShelsOriginally Posted by Real ale Madrid
2. thats a big if..IF we are regularly getting 8,000 crowds at the cross and i mean averages over a season then it may be too small, but with teh new stand at teh shed end taking 2,800 supposedly and st annes getting more rows at the back then the capacity of the stadium will be more like 10,500 which will be ok for us for the foreseeable future...
3. not until he retires with a hatrick of league and FAI cup doubles and a Champions League winners medal...
4. Very definitely but only on a par time basis ..he still has the football club to run.
was speaking to the dutch gang in the beer garden after the game and they were very impressed with us..the nec website fella has been supporting them for years and he made a very interesting point.. he said that nec used to only get an average of 3000 supporters at their home games..the city built the de goffert stadium and leases it to nec..since they built the stadium a few years ago and took a more professional all round approach they now have 14k season ticket holders and are going to extend the stadium due to demand.Originally Posted by Real ale Madrid
our club is def going in the right direction and i take my hat off to lennox and co but this is definitely the way forward for city if we want to really progress long term... longford managed a great stadium having had a team on the brink of oblivion only 6 or 7 years ago
i couldnt help standing in the magnificent de goffert thinking how the setup was a perfect model for city to take on board
def one of the greatest days in our history,I was proud to be a city fan and must say that I was almost balling towards the end aswell(although that could be all the drink in my body),fcuking sick now though I had the day off work, thank fcuk.Thaddy your were singing your head off in the beer garden ya mouldy ballox, fair dues.Great day from start to finish, lets hope Nantes is even better.CMON THE REBEL ARMY.

Cork-Dublin 'derbies' will always have something special about them. The atmosphere for the home games against Malmo and NEC has been great on the Shed and even the crowd in the Donie Forde Stand seemed to come to life yesterday, well some of 'em at leastOriginally Posted by THESAINT2002
But for atmosphere at the Cross you can't beat a night time game under the floodlights, against Shams Pats or Boehs. I think we're in danger of letting a little old European Cup run go to our heads, what a great complaint to have though
