Searched in case he was mentioned elsewhere but there was an interview with him in last Sundays Indo

I know most Ireland U19's don't get a thread of their own but there is a novelty value to this lads situation I suppose. Seems to be seen as quite a prospect as well. Pretty level headed kid too.

It was a very interesting article that. Smith makes La Masia sound like a carpark in Saipan by the way he speaks about the atmoshpere around the Rangers training ground. Out of all the clubs that he spent time with on trial, he felt that Rangers would be the best place to learn his trade, which is as good a reason as any to join a club.

    Best of luck to him!

I'm not a fan of his commentating in the FIFA 12 demo...

I'm still amazed he got 19 caps for England, probably just because he joined Man Utd from Leeds...

Was thinking the exact same myself. Good luck to the lad. The more Irish lads making the big time the better.

I'm all for saying fair play to the lad and I wish the religious divide wasn't there but....

Me too, you would wonder what justified his wage up to this point. Or maybe he has reccomended countless Irish lads who went on to make it but would not go near Rangers.

That's what I was thinking - even Smith went to Celtic as well as Rangers. You'd think the success rate would be ludicrously small.

You're absolutely right - I called him an effing C, it is indeed obvious what the C means and I stand over it. So -what am I trying to twist?

No I didn't -Yard of Pace posted a comment that was slightly, but scarcely criminally, OT. I offered a counterpoint. You then took the hump.

It's a big boys forum. My language may be unparliamentary but I stand over the sentiment entirely. But like yourself and in keeping with my previous post I too am happy to leave it at that.

Close. David Connolly has announced his desire to play for Northern Ireland following the acrimonious break up of his affair with Stephen Ireland's granny.

There really aren't any winners here.

That particular gowl is a true blue Rangers supporter. Was so impressed by Hately and co. back in '92 that he's followed them loyally (no puns) since. Made a career of being a switcher. They're welcome to him now and forever more.
