one last question for ya, how many games are the 'b' players allow play before they are considered to be 'a' players, or is it a case that if you play one game you are then screwed for the rest of the season?? just wondering as most young players might want to try and make the step up but could be turned off it if it meant that after one game for the 'A' team they might find themselves stuck on the bench for the rest of the season if they didn't make the grade!

as many as you want....thing is most of the games from 1a and premier are on the same day and sometimes the same time.
you can't be stopped playing B football no matter how many games you play with your A team.
you can also play in most local trophies, with the exception of the divisional cup,if the B team team has not entered the competition(like open cups such as the lawson in limerick)

If you play 5 games for an A team in TSDL, then you can't step back to a B team

Whats the story there do they all sign A forms or B forms,if you're a signed A player in limerick you cannot turn out for the B team, have ye just one type of form?is that not very hard to control ie,who monitors how many games you have played with your B team.example if a b player plays 5 games in fai which is a club comp does that rule him out for the season with b team?

All Junior and Youth players sign the same form. Once you are registered withe club, you can play for both A and B teams. If you play 5 or more domestic games at the higher level, then you are stuck there. If you play in the FAI or Munster then you are cup tied with whichever side you played with, but it doesn't count against your 5 games.

It's up to each club to monitor this. If you were to play someone ineligble and the league copped it, you would surely be fined and lose points.

Mr. Reliable it's not a stupid comment at all, the only reason why 5/6 on the junior team are not playing with Yere senior team is that the chairmans son is the manager of junior team. Any other year it wouldn't be happening and we all know that.

Bluey thats nonsense.. have to agree with mr reliable. Only 1/2 players who could make the step up at the moment from the midleton junior team, 1 of whom has given over ten years service to the midleton senior team and for personal reasons as I understand it decided not to play senior this year. After 10 years and with a young family I think that is fair enough. Also he would be friendly with the previous manager and to the best of my knowledge when asked to play senior this year he helped out. Other player who could possibly play senior wasn't even at the club last year as far as I know and has only returned to Midleton this year. Would expect this player to be pushing for the senior squad next year but would ace some competition. Future isn't that bleak though, some good u19's coming through some who have been involved with the seniors and others with the juniors.

To be honest bluey your rambling again about the same old cod,as people keep saying only 1player from our senior panel last year playing junior this year, due to family commitments, and he has also played for the seniors this year to help them out!also six other junior players hav played or togged for the seniors Tis year, and yes the chairmans son is the d manager, who got back four players back from the town to play junior!the problem with the senior panel(20 signed players),five of them have picked up serious injuries,3 midfield players all started against cork city out injured from last year....I think some 1 still has sour grapes from a fai cup loss...:-)

Dis agree with you bluey ! Only one player turned down a call up this year to senior squad when they were struggling with injuries everyone else has played when asked, not asked enough from what i've seen but the senior manager had his squad and played players within that squad.

Its not nonsense at all mighty is facts. There is 6 on junior team who should be in senior, barrett, cody, tucker, hoggy, mallon and mick ryan. deasy could also do job so thats 7. maybe if those players where senior from start of season ye would have the local team that ye be harping on about instead of having 6 outsiders for the game i seen ye play against rockmount. Also if all them where there with the senior team they wouldnt be in the serious relegation battle they are in. But as my recent post said, theres a blind eye turned to it cause of the family connections, by the way mighty, self praise in no praise " manager who got 4 players back from town to play junior ". No sour grapes from fai game, poor performance by leeside on the night and ye wanted it more. Ye won and deserved it, if there was sour grapes we would of been going on about missing this fella, that fella and the sending off. but we didnt.

Bluey seen a few senior games and chubbs and knowlsey have been two best players over last 2 seasons over 35 goals between um ! what you want senior manager to do drop them both and play Barrett and Deasy upfront !!! Crazy !

"and Hoggy is a senior player not junior" Well if hoggy is a senior player why did he come on and play the last 15min plus extra time against pike the other night?????????
No not saying drop chubbs and knowles at all, if knowles was played in rightfull position wide, barrett would well be able to play up front at senior level.

taught this was munster junior cup thread?? maybe ye lads should meet up for a pint rather than talking about it here, as for saying this player should be playing senior or junior that is up to the club and managers! get on with it lads more to life! bluey if it bothers you so much and you have such an interest in midleton fc, i think they have a facebook page/website, you can get most of your'e info there if needs be!! am not slating anyone or trying to be clever but the last few comments have nothing to do with junior cup football!
