said individual wouldnt be the brightest spark in the world, so in his mind, if he did nothing wrong then he woudnt generate the brain power to muster an apology.

incident sounds terrible,, any news on outcome?

How anybody could do something like that and not apolgise is sick....A life time ban is too good for him. If he did something similar on the street he would be facing jail time.

Anyway back to the football what did people make of the league cup final last weekend and any predictions for this weekends set of matches?

Good game today between us and Newmarket.first half wasn't good from our point of view but the rest of the game was good. The league is going to be tight between 4 teams I think.we are all very strong. It will be the tightest yet.

Which 4 teams Wolverine? Watched the game yesterday and I thought it was very enjoyable from a neutrals point of view. Newmarket were very dangerous from set pieces with the kelly's causing all sorts of problems. However, I thought Avenue were the better team in open play. Saying that I thought Newmarket were robbed for a penalty in the first half and I cant understand how Martin didnt give it

If I was to hazard a guess I would imagine the 4 teams wolverine are on about are Avenue, Lifford, Ennis town rock and newmarket.

I might be a bit biased here but I thought we fully deserved the win yesterday. In fairness it was a great game to watch(painful for me). The 2 kellys definitely are a big threat in the air and newmarket have some very fast players up top. Dylan Casey at left back for us was outstanding, its no wonder leicester city are very keen on him, I actually wouldnt be surprised if the lad makes it across in england, his energy levels are very good and his attitude to learn is great.

Goalscorers were Mikey mahoney and David Russell for Avenue, Daithi o connell and stephen kelly for newmarket

I'd agree with you about Dylan. I thought he was excellent and caused serious trouble. Put some great balls into the box too. Is there a good chance of him going to Leicester?

I could be wery wrong here but I think he will be signing for them in the summer when he turns 16. He has been going over there for the past few years and has also been capped for Ireland and captained them also, unbelievable talent

He's a great prospect and its hard to believe that he is still only 15. Best of luck to the lad and hopefully he can make it with Leicester.
Avenue and Newmarket look like genuine title contenders but Im not sure about Lifford or Ennis Town Rock. I think these teams may all take points off each other and therefore the league could be a very closely run race this year

Not sure about Lifford myself but you have to consider them especially seeing as they've beaten your two favourites already this season in the league cup. Would be great for the club itself to win it on it's anniversary and I'm sure Big Dad will be doing his best to work his magic and get the best out of his squad. With it been such a tight league this year in terms of games I think it will be the side with the best record against the big teams who will go on to win the league.

great game of soccer sunday, between the 2 best teams in clare,, some great soccer played and no dirt or messing,, well reffed by mr o brien too, i agree newmkt possiblr could have had a penalty, but not given and i thought avenue deserved the win , as they finished the game a lot stronger after a bright 1st half from nwmkt,,
the league will be very close this yr , i think between the 2 teams mentioned, lifford will be a threat , but their downfall will be drawing games agiantst the so called weaker teams , because they dont get up for them like they do against avenue or nwmkt,
wel done to connolly beating a prem team as well.. tough one next though!
an good luck to avenue vs newcastle next weekend

Avenue are a good team.. Having a mixed last couple of weeks but a very strong outfit ... Have a good defense with experience and youth ( left full going to Leicester ) . Rest of defense would be the back bone of clare Oscar traynor teams over last couple of years.. Midfield very strong with some good ball players and some strong physical players too.. Up front have plenty of goals so far this year.. Having home advantage will be a plus but ye will have to work very hard to get anything out of the game...

    Does anyone know why the following matches are posponed?;

Cassidy Pk: Lifford A P-P Ennis Town Rock
Lees Road: Rhine Rovers P-P Bridge Celtic
    Fairgreen: Manus Celtic B P-P Coole F.C
Lees Road: Inch Crusaders P-P Hermitage B
    Fairgreen: Hermitage C P-P Tulla United B
    Kilmhill: St.Pats P-P Lifford B

It can't be for unplayable pitches because there's another game down in the 3rd div for cassidy park

All Liffords' games are off due to the death of John O'Neill's father, James. R.I.P.

Great game in Newcastle west today...Newcastle West Afc 3-3 Avenue United,NCW winning 4-2 on penalties..ncw went up 1-0 with one of the best goals
I have ever seen..long clearance to striker, chested it Down and first time volley over the keeper and into the top corner..avenue equalised but soon after ncw went back in front through a own goal..avenue levelled with a back post header and went 3-2 up with another back post header which was about 3 or 4 yards off side but (cest la vie).ncw levelled and scored their 4 penalties while avenue missed their 3rd and 4th..great game and well worth the watch...best of luck to avenue for the rest of the season

just reading on the forum the clare league have on their site about newmarket having more games played than other teams, ie. avenue, tulla or lifford...for 1, every team has to play each other twice, so it doesn't really matter. 2, they don't make the fixture but only play them. 3, avenue
are now out of the fai and behind in games already, yet they have no fixture for the coming weekend while newmarket do have one. i don't see why people think newmarket should have to go without fixtures so that other teams can play catch up, again, they only play the fixture they are givin.

if newmarket were losing these games would there be a debate at all??????

Maybe people are complaining because Newmarket could be losing a few of there squad to the GAA shortly and teams who will be suffering the same sort of thing as that don't have the games played that Newmarket do? That's all I can think of anyway.

At the end of the day as you said each team is going to face each other at least twice and it's going to be 11 vs 11 it doesn't matter which side has who playing or who's missing you've still got to do the business. I have no problem with Newmarket having played so many games already.

Huge game this weekend for them and for Lifford when they meet. Should be a very good game to watch.

from what ive seen so far this season, only a couple of the hurley heads have been playing for newmarket so far so that put the above to bed. they have a big squad and that shows that any player they have is capable of doing a job whether they puck a shliter or not.
