The final game against Armenia gonna be just massive now. But at the start of the day we would have snapped hands off for this, its all in our hands, we could not ask for much more. Well except for Slovakia to beat Russia so that we can top the group as wellOriginally Posted by Fergie's Son
3-0 wow! Shows how bad we were last Friday and indeed how we let 2 points slip over there but anyway I'm delighted, at least 2nd place is back in our own hands again with two games left. Armenia have been amazing in this group and could be higher only for a late penalty for Macedonia resulting in a 2-2 draw over there earlier in the group.
Macedonia could be the team to look out for though. They've only edged past Andorra tonight but they have proven tough opponents throughout this group and could have more points. I'd venture that they could do us at least 1 favour before this group is out.
So many complications but at least we have it back in our own hands and I don't think anyone is going to underestimate Armenia now.
And best of all we have actually beaten armenia - away from home!!
It's grand - half of the team will disappear at half time through a tunnel out into Dublin 4.

Cannot see Slovakia getting 6 points from their remaining two games. They will be lucky to get a point. Bear in mind that Slovakia at home is a glamour tie for Macedonia and I would fancy them to win.

Russia are not certain to qualify as Slovakia will play a lot better against them. It could well be Ireland 21, Russia 20 Slovakia 20.

Absolutely shocking performance tonight. I thought they might slip up in Macedonia but didn't see this collapse coming at all. A bit worried about Armenia now!
Last week Trap went down to the crossroads and sold what was left of his football soul, to the devil. We play crapball in exchange for qualification.
The flip side of this is that if Russia beat Slovakia we only need to win/draw against Armenia to at least make the playoffs which i really would fancy us. We may be ****e at winning games but we're the hardest team in the group to beat i would venture.
You'd have to face Armenia to do Macedonia now, which means a point would probably do us for 2nd when we play them at the Aviva....just what Trap will love, not having to win
