Great performance today by caherdavin, would have been a lot of clubs around the country happy to see the favourites knocked out. Still the team to beat in the competition!
Jaysus pike would need to up big time after that performance, hard luck caherdavin.

Stunned by that Pike result. Anyone know the starting eleven?
Ballynanty 3-1 Regional
An exact reverse of last week's League scoreline was the result today after a competitive game in LIT.
Regional started the better and made it count with the opening goal. Declan Nash dropped deep to collect and was given the time to smash a long range shot into the top corner. Ballynanty looked in disarray and when they lost David Dunphy to injury and were forced to again use Frank Lee as an auxiliary midfielder it looked like things were only going to get worse. However, his replacement, whose name escapes me, nodded in the equaliser from a set piece, and after that Regional seemed to retreat. Their left full was struggling big time. He could have conceded a penalty soon after the equaliser, only for his poor positioning to let Barry Quinn in behind to cross for Tony Fahy to finish shortly after. 2-1 Ballynanty at half-time.
Second half, Regional continued to play too deep and as a result weren't getting close enough in midfield. Brian Doran profited from this and had an excellent game after a poor first 15 minutes. Balla wrapped it up midway through the half on the counter. Amazingly Regional only had one man back and were caught out by an excellent cross-field ball from the Balla left full. Barry Quinn look it past Barry O'Grady before slotting home. All over.
A very strange performance from Regional who looked like the only winner in the first quarter of the game. Poor defensive positioning cost them for two goals, but it was mentality that really cost them.

Motivation problem I'd say. They played fantastic last week against Carrick and lost. I know I'd prefer a tight game and a win than a 6-0 walkover. Pike upped the game in extra time, Borris hit the crossbar with a free kick; Tierney had a header off the post and Kavanagh had a superb shot tipped over. All over a 10 minute period.
Credit where credit is due for Caherdavin. Worked there socks off. Especially the number 9, up front on his own for 70 odd minutes. They were very disciplined over the 90 minutes. 10 behind the ball for long periods really shows your the commitment they put in. You never know, might see them up in the Limerick Premier next season.
When is 5th round draw being made lads?
lads will yee give it a break, pike were lucky to beat kilmallock 2 1 last year in the fai and still went onto to win it.even though they struggled against caherdavin means nothing and everyone on here knows that they are still capable of winnig it this year so everyone should get behind them because imo they are the only team in limerick capable of bringing it back to limerick this year and thats not knocking any of the other teams left in it from limerick.
pike were lucky to beat kilmallock last year, but given they are a fellow premier outfit and a decent one at that the fact they struggled out there was not a great surprise, however one would have expected pike to come through yesterdays game comfortably, with all due respect to caherdavin.thought pike were terrible, really laboured through this one and the sideline had no plan B to cope with what caherdavin were doing.good effort from the div 1 outfit it must be said, very disciplined throughout and k.meehan[until injury]b.ryan were good.

Few surprises with the teams getting out of Limerick, if pike get their act together as they can they will go very close, depending on the draws they get Carew park and balla could go a long way. Moyross have a few handy players and will be difficult to beat at home. Hill Celtic and mungret have done well to get out of town but won't get any further
dont rule out hill or mungret a few non premier teams look like coming out of tipp section too and im sure they would be more than a match for them. also most of the cork junior teams would be beatable too so nothing for them to fear really Hollywood hogan they are there on merit
if it wasnt for birds and booze id have played for ireland juniors!!!!!
