No, 8,500 or so. Shame about not getting both ends, would've given it a complete feel.

I'd like to know the reason, as it does appear incongruous.

Perhaps it is something to do with the expected possible crowd, and the health and safety issues that derive from that? According to wiki, Andorra has a population of 80,000 (and its capital only 24,000), so it doesn't seem unreasonable to hold matches in a stadium that could, in theory, hold about 2% of their total national population, or about 1 in 11 people who live in the capital!

It's totally unrealistic to expect some of the smallest countries in the world to have 8000-10000 seater stadiums. Once you've gotten as far as the group stage of a major European competition, I think it's reasonable to expect bigger and better stadiums.

Andorra do play the odd bigger games outside of their home stadium

    From Wiki

Andorra play home matches at the Comunal d'Andorra la Vella, Aixovall, in the parish Sant Julià de Lòria, near the capital Andorra la Vella which also hosts the matches of club sides FC Andorra, UE Sant Julia, FC Rànger's, FC Santa Coloma and FC Lusitanos. It has a capacity of 1,800.[12]
Andorra have on occasions played "home" matches outside their borders. For example, the 2008 European Championship and 2010 World Cup qualifiers against England, the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona and home of RCD Espanyol between 1997–2009 was used instead

    I never doubted soccerc.
Would not have posted if I was anyway unsure. I cross checked with a number of sources, not all in Ireland and they all confirmed it.

Shamrock Rovers will play our Europa League Group Stages at home in Tallaght Stadium, after the venue was given the go-ahead by UEFA this evening.

Following an inspection of the ground by UEFA officials on Tuesday, the association has today given the Hoops the green light to play at the Tallaght venue.

The first game will take place on Thursday, September 15 against Rubin Kazan, with a 6pm kick-off.
Hoops chairman, Jonathan Roche expressed the club’s delight at the news. He said: “It is wonderful news for us as a club, but also for the Tallaght area. We were pushing hard to have the games played at Tallaght, and are delighted that UEFA have given us the go-ahead.
“We are very grateful to the FAI - particularly chief executive, John Delaney and the licencing department – and to South Dublin County Council, for the great support and assistance they have given us to be able to have these games in Tallaght.”
John Delaney, Chief Executive of the FAI also welcomed the news, saying: “We are delighted to have been able to assist in this process and thank UEFA for this decision which will allow Shamrock Rovers to play their Europa League fixtures at their home venue.”
Ticket information will be available later this evening at www.shamrockrovers.ie.

Well done Delaney for helping out. In fairness he does help to get things done.

I understand their objections but tbh, the result will be the same anyway, so there's not much point objecting. It's also a bit rich the Slovaks objecting, considering what they did to us 12 months ago.

I'd imagine Spurs will only get about 400 or 500 tickets max for the game.

Generally in the LOI yeah, but for this type of game I'm guessing, and I stress the point I'm only guessing, Spurs will only get about 400 tickets since it's only 8500 capacity, and what is needed is a proper intimidating atmosphere and with 8000 Rovers fans that's hopefully what they'll get.

If the other stand is built, the capacity will be 10,000+, so Spurs will get more than 400, and probably double it again. They're the only away team going to bring a crowd that are based where they play. Even if it isn't, they'll probably get more than the standard allocation. There should be enough tickets for them.
