Fund Raising for Eric Butler appeal, at Waterford United vs St. Pats

Just to let you know there will be a bucket collection for my little cousin, on the evening of the FAI 4th rd match, Waterford United vs. St. Pats. on 26th of August, who'll also be the team mascot on the day.

He's just come back from tests in London and will be returning there soon enough to undergo a massive operation to build him a new esophagus. They really have nothing to fund this so every penny needed. You might of heard his Mam yesterday morning on WLR's Billy McCarthy.

Also if anyone is interested there's a fund-raiser in the Mansion House as the match is on, so will only be warming up by the time the match is over, a BBQ and disco, spot prizes etc, €10 at the door. I'll be going down straight after the match, if anyone wants to join me.

Lads if you could join his Facebook page as well. https://www.facebook...0995452&sk=info and we will be giving regular updates on how he's getting on. There will be a bank account set up as soon as a charity number is issued, but like everything in this country, that's taking for ever.

Here's a little more information from his Mam, that will also appear in the programme.

Eric was born on the 31/8/2001 with a rare illness known as TOF VACTRAL. Since birth he has had numerous major operations in Our Ladys Hospital Crumlin. Most recently the family learned that these operations were unsuccessful and Eric was refered to Great Ormond Street London. On the 16th of august Eric went to G.O.S.H.and he will now have to have major surgury there in the coming months. At the moment Eric has to be fed on an hourly basis and a feeding machine takes over through the night for 10 hours. It is hoped that with surgury Eric will be able to eat food like any normal 10 year old, and the feeding tube can be removed. The operation known as an Osphecious transplant will take up to 10 hours and he will be in the icu for 14 days and on the Waterford 14 days, so he will be a patient for a month.... Eric loves to play outside with his friends and has a keen interest in football and hurling..
