Looks to be heading to Preston for 300k - https://www.thesun.ie/sport/football...ton-north-end/
I love how they call it a "sensational move". I would say it's one of the most easily predicted moves in a while!
I'm assuming Horgan is going to move on from there as he doesn't appear to be in Neil's plans and I'm sure there will be another Championship club delighted to have him.
We also have Robinson and Maguire there so slight over- concentration of Ireland players there which is fine if they're making it into the front line together.
Horgan is a better player than Burke and isn't getting a game there. Burke doesn't play a position that would suit Preston at all. Poor club choice for him I think. He's not replacing Alan Browne or Seani. Not sure where they expect him to fit.
Burke wont even make the first eleven over there I think ... poor move for him! ... Unless Maguire gets injured!
Signs for Preston - https://www.pnefc.net/news/2018/june...-graham-burke/
Delighted for him. I have never seen such negativity about a lad moving over from loi Brian Kerr was at it again on Monday night on the league of Ireland highlights show. Making it sound like he is dog lucky that he got out in a squad for the friendlies and purely for that reason has got his move. I think a bit of it is his style if play lethargic looking does not fit the all action hard work tough as nails ethos some like to see in Irish players.
I'd worry about Burke for similar reasons to Kerr but in Alex Neil he has a manager who can get the best out of players like him. He's grown up so much since he joined Rovers and I'd expect him to continue that. And if him and Maguire can build a rapport then it will only help them both in their chances to become regular internationals.
He may not be the “conventional” Irish forward in terms of the physical/pressing style but I thought he was quite impressive. Seemed to take up good positions, a good first touch and good movement. I’m hoping he makes the grade with Preston and don’t understand the negativity.
Kerr hates everything to do with rovers, legacy of his days at pats I reckon. But i also think he has become very bitter over the last few years in general. Watching the **** job being done by o Neil reminds him how harshly he was treated
Of course, Kerr never gave a LOI player a token cap in a nothing friendly to help him get a move to England.
Incidentally, did you know Jason Byrne and Brian Kerr had the same agent?
Did'nt know that about the Agent but makes sense.
I wonder did he look back at his comments on Soccer Republic and realise how bad he sounded slamming a young player , very poor form.
Man of the match for Preston tonight in their carabao cup match.
Hopefully get him a starting place ssturday.
Goal and an assist
