Have to say after watching MNS my opinion has changed, McHugh never touched Ventre, it was a complete attempt to win a penalty. The ref got it right at the time. Very sharp observation. Our penalty was maybe soft, but unlike the Ventre call, the defender made direct contact with the player and the ref had no option.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).

Dive by ventre and deserved to go,but should have been a peno for definite handball. dundalk peno was soft but bad defending.
Pats 2nd was a cracker, and the ref an embarrasment to LOI but symptomatic of the standard in this league
Galway should just stop.
.. what PC said
Ref in Pats game should not be let near a pitch again. When will refs realise people pay in to see players centre stage not them ? cracking second for Pats but great performance from UCD
If Sligo want to win the title they have got to tighten up a bit. Ref not the reason they conceded penalty - bad defending was. Dive from Ventre was comical, for a player on a yellow it was crazy. Galway are giving "crap" a bad name at this stage![]()
I'd like to change my answer to the complete opposite of what I originally said.
(involuntary shudder) i mean the thoughts of it.....
Two players missing sure thats nothing compared to our injury woes all season. We where missing 4 first teamers Hawkins, McDonnell, Murphy and Osborne. Then both Kerr and Duffy who are in the reserves but make the match day squads where missing aswell. This is at a time when we are actually getting players back from injury. Byrne made his return today and Maher is only back after a lengthy period out. Others have been injured for periods this season aswell.
So what you're saying is that Russell fouled Quigley... twice?
