Ive gotten emails from mates(normally get them ) who wouldn't ever mentione LOI to me really, as they wouldn't have any interest yet teh same tone is coming from all of them "cant believe what pats are at". For those who don't read forums/whatever they all seem to believe pats are the problem and not the players...anyway back to the old of the only publicity the league gets is bad publicity.

I hope the Pats fans give the players dogs of abuse tonight and don't cheer any goals scored.

More money is coming through the 'tills' - who should get it? The board? The players should have first shout since they're the ones making it happen on the pitch. Just because workers don't ask for extra doesn't mean they shouldn't.

Who is begrudging the players a bonus?

According to media reports St Pats agreed a package with them for the first round and made an offer for subsequent rounds.

After the behaviour of the players and PFAI I NOW begrudge them a single red cent and hope they end up as LoI outcasts.

    This is the real point:

Nothing to do with the pros and cons of bonuses. Why are some people on here so retarded?

Obviously they wouldn't cheer for the other team, but the silent treatment for any SPA goals would be apt. Prob won't happen but it will be an interesting atmosphere.

I can think of a thousand ways Pats would probably put that money to good use. Instead of throwing it away on bonus payments that were never due.

    WTF?

Players are some of the few people who make money out of the LOI. Boards generally work their arses off and plough their time and money into a club because they love their club. So if I had to decide- I'd go with boards every time. Yes plenty of them have made feck ups down the years but without them there'd be no LOI. And the idea that 'the board' would get the money is ridiculous anyway.. chances are it'll be reinvested straight back into the club.

STATEMENT FROM THE PLAYERS OF ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC FOOTBALL CLUB
Following discussions between our representative Stephen McGuinness of the PFAI, Fran Gavin of the FAI, and a club official, we can confirm that we have reached an agreement this afternoon with the club in relation to our requests.
We never expected this matter to go as far as it did, and we would like to thank our club’s fans for their support during this time. We have never lost focus on tonight’s game and are very much looking forward to this evening’s encounter with FC Karpaty Lviv

only because it agrees with your point but i agree that the timing is bad however if you want future performance treat your players fairly . How can these players be expected to perform in the league after this.

Have St. Pat's fans been standing by the players? As for claiming not to have lost focus, I'm not sure how that stands against a declaration to boycott the entire thing about three hours ago...

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.

The "incentive" is they get paid and keep their job . Its quite a popular incentive scheme outside football as well I believe. Players (along with anyone else) are entitled to negotiate a bonus for success and/orincreased efficency/productivity but the manner in which they went about it in this case is completely unacceptable.

clubs like st pats need the injection of european football to pay debts. to assume the tills are ringing is silly every penny will be earmarked for creditors, players wages, expenses and all the other things that a club needs to survive.
players imo did themselves and pats, fans (and the league) a disservice.
I wish i did not know then what I dont know now

..... could be one of the very occassions that the board at a club will hope the team do NOT make it through - imagine they made the group stage (all those extra games)

Could be a very short term "victory" for the PFAI if this is how they go about their business
