wouldnt normally post about same but this book is outstanding.
just wondering has anybody else read it ?
i guarantee youll be blown away by it.
its set in the present day.it starts with a weird murder in "the louvre" and goes on to reveal 2000 year old mysteries (stuff i thought i knew about but dont).there is some ingenious devices woven into the story which features some of the inventions that leanardo never got to make.

want to get it myself I'm reading another one of his books at the moment, Angels and Demons.
I loved the background story, it's something I have an interest in anyway and I've read factual books on it, so to see it set in a thriller was very interesting.
It's an easy read, short chapters that keep you reading 'just one more', good story moves along rapidly. I'd recommend it alright, surprised it's done as well as it has though.

read it a couple months ago, was pretty good alright. picked up the other one of his books mentioned, angels and demons, for reading on the trains and planes heading to nijmegen. the two feature the same central character, but i was wondering does anyone know which comes first in the timeline? it seems like the angels and demons one is set first, with the da vinci code being a sequel.

OK, i checked it out and A+D was published a year before TDVC, which answers that question i guess.

best story I heard him tell was when his auld fella and Jimmy 5 bellies went to visit him in Rome, and they brought him over 6 steak and kidney pies 'cos you couldn't get them in Italy. After a night on the razz, gazza went home slightly earlier than the other two to cook the pies. He opened the lids of them, scraped out the steak and kidney, and replaced it with Whiskas...Jimmy 5 bellies said it was the best pie he ever ate....fact!!
