    Granville A 2-1 Carew Park
Good game played at a competitive tempo. Both teams tried to play ball. Granville worked their collective socks off and deserved the victory. They scored 2 good goals, the 2nd of which was a cracking volley. Best of luck to both teams in the comming season

A fine win, a super workout, and a very positive all round experience for our lads. We started the game well playing some nice short passing football and not the least bit intimidated by our Premier opponents, who did in fairness have the majority of the possesion. We were excellent in our workrate however not allowing them the time to get any proper foothold on the game. When they attacked it was with pace and thanks to some last ditch blocks and fantastic goalkeeping, we kept it at 0-0. Then after several fine counter-attacks by our lads, we broke the deadlock. Joe Horan with an excellent strikers finish with his back to goal he swivelled and shot putting it past Gordon Stewart. 1-0 at half time we knew they would pick up the pace and come at us, and they did just that, forcing more fine defending and sharp saves from Kevin Mc Glinchey in our goal. But once more we counter-attacked brilliantly for Sean Buckley to score a fabulous goal. 2-0 and we were working hard for it. Carew did pull a goal back late on but we stood firm for the win. Outstanding team work and no little good football made this our finest pre-season performance and we are in fine fettle heading into our season.
Best for us on the night: Oumaru Hamadou.

Agree with everything you said Granvile ran themselves into the ground and wanted the win a lot more than carew did yer keeper pulled off some excellent saves and ye defended very well. WIth dean Finnan picking up a bad injury its something you don't need with The season starting in 5 days
