Looked in the search. There were threads for Wayne and Conor, but none for Stephen.
Keeper eyeing international spot
http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/po...spot_1_2866676Stephen Henderson is banking on Steve Cotterill’s influence kick-starting his international career.
The 23-year-old keeper has arrived at Pompey from Bristol City brimming with ambition and aspirations.
Not only does he want to establish himself as Cotterill’s number one, he’s also desperate to force his way into the Republic of Ireland set-up.
Henderson does have international pedigree, having played at every junior level for his country since the age of 14.
The only thing missing from a clean sweep is that prized maiden senior call-up.
It was his outstanding form at Yeovil last season which persuaded Pompey to bring the Dubliner to Fratton Park.
Regular first-team football in League One helped the former Aston Villa stopper flourish.
Now Henderson is hoping he can maintain his development at Pompey under the watchful eye of Cotterill.
And he is also dreaming of dislodging Shay Given as Giovanni Trapattoni’s favoured choice.
Henderson said: ‘I’m hoping this move will open the door for me with the Republic of Ireland, without a doubt.
‘Obviously, Shay’s a great servant and there are a lot of good goalkeepers in the Ireland set-up.
‘But I have to aim high and that’s exactly what I’m going to do here.
‘The gaffer was a massive influence in my move.
‘I heard great things about him and he did a great job last season, considering all the troubles the team went through.
‘He’s a great manager. I’m just delighted to play under him.’
The last of Henderson’s eight under-21 caps came in 2010.
Nice to see another young keeper starting to progress. What a goalkeeping dynasty the Henderson family is.

Bump for drummerboy.
I didn't see the Portsmouth v Southampton game. Anyone know how Henderson done in goal for Pompey.

Saw it. Did well, one fine save, nothing he could do about the Saints goal.

Haven't had a chance to see him yet this season but Henderson must be doing something right.
Portsmouth manager has been told to sell his best players by the Administrator of the club. They are in dire straits again. Henderson could be on his way. Its a pity really, as he has been doing very well, which has prompted the attention from Newcastle. But I think Newcastle would be a bad move and he will not get in ahead of Krul.

What about other irish keeper Elliott who is subbin up for newcastle after coming from charlton
Called up to the squad and appears to have overtaken Randolph to become our fourth choice keeper. Harsh on Randolph who has done well in Scotland and night have thought he had a chance of going to the Euros.
Pompey fans seem to think Henderson is Premier League quality though.

linked with a loan move to West Ham this morning: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/tran...cle874728.html
Although there's an article from yesterday's Herald that says he won't be leaving: http://www.herald.ie/sport/soccer/st...y-3039753.html
Liam Lawrence said he was staying with Pompey and the next day he was heading to Cardiff. These players are commodities and if the administrator can get cash for them he will flog them off asap.

It would be a bit of a pointless exercise for him to move if it's just to warm the bench somewhere. I've never rated Green but he is the long-established #1.
