So based on your idea of trying to strenghten the Prem, a team could finish 5th in 1A this season and be in with a chance of playing Prem football the following season via a play-off,
For example if Div 1A finished with lets say Dines 1st, Shannon Hibs 2nd, Pike 3rd, Balla 4th and Shannon Town 5th, and Shannon Town went on to meet 3rd last in the Prem and beat them in a one off game, how would that strenghten the Prem?

Next season , you'd end up with a team that finished 10th in the Prem this season being replaced by a team that finished mid-table in Div 1A.

if they beat a premiership team do you not think they should be classed as better than that team then, surely both teams would make sure thay had a full strength team out for that game, what the alternative to stop teams from not competing when they are promoted.

Beating a team in a once off doesn't mean over a season they would be stronger. By that logic Hospital beating Killmallock in the FAI means Hospital should be up in the premier or are better than some premier teams.

It does seem wrong though that a team can finish midtable in 1A and be playing Premier the following season.

Abbeyvale had a good Idea before where there was a few divisions of all A teams. Premier A, 1A, 2A and below that would be Premier B, 1B, 2B. It would mean the A and B teams are kept seperate and teams will go up on the merit of A team vs A team and B team vs B team. It would mean players playing with for example Pike B and Balla B have something they can win and reach the top of i.e be the Premier B champions and not just win 1A and be stuck there. At the moment that would look like.

Premier A: Pike, Janesboro, Carew Park, Fairview, Regional, Killmallock, Balla, Wembley, Star, Aisling, Corbally, Summerville

1A: Geraldines, Shannon Hibs, Caherconlish, Caherdavin, Shannon, Mungret, Charleville, Granville, Croom, Moyross, Dromore, Bruff

and so on below that, 2A.

    Premier B: Pike B, Balla B, Fairview B, Janesboro B, Killmallock B, Corbally B, Aisling B, Summerville B, Geraldines B, Charleville B, Regional B, Shannon Hibs B.

and so on below that, 1B, 2B.

It would be interesting to see how that would work. It may not work at all though.

It would also add some of the stronger lower division A teams that are making there way up in with other A teams for example, Lisnagry, Weston, Hill Celtic, Hyde, Coonagh, Ballylanders would be in tougher divisions and the teams higher up would be in tougher divisions instead of there being a big gap between the top 3 or 4 in lower divisions and the rest. And also the stronger B teams in lower divisions i.e Charleville B, Shannon Town B, Geraldines B, Prospect B will be in tougher divisions also and make it more competitive.

Best idea I've heard in a long time. Something has to be done to rejuvenate junior soccer in limerick, standard is **** poor apart from two teams full of mercenaries

surely if you playing a relegation playoff you will field your best team and if so then the best team will win on the day, I agree that a team who wins a div that cannot go up is unfair but a team that comes 5th in the div should not also go up unless they can beat whats at the bottom of the league ahead of them, does that not make sense,

anyway I also agree that something has to be done about the premier div its in 3 teirs at the moment

    I'd still prefer John Tierney.

How many players have the Boro signed now? Must be verging on 20-25??

Alot of players to keep happy. I wonder what's attracting Christy Doyle down there.

Mrman most divisions in limerick are in three tiers so the prem is no different. Also about the standard, dont the currernt fai champs come from limerick?Didnt a 1a side reach a munster semi last season? Also this constant complaining about pike and boro being too strong is getting tiresome, havent balla ran both teams very close on a couple of occasions this season?didnt caherdavin take pike to pens?wembley drew with boro last weekend, carew or the view could catch either team on a good day too.Teams just seem to take the easy wayout by constanstly moaning, why not try meet the challange and work harder? If players dont want to play against a tierney, barry, moloney, clarke, waters, kavanagh or whoever they should go sign for a lower league club in my opinion.
