they went nearly 2 years unbeaten also with an fai and leagues to boot.. watched them against ashling last night some lovely players there.. balla late on last year had to do it and a few have started this year no harm in it.. clubs should be mixing the young lads thru with the older lads those lads won so much its crazy.. even if the lose a grip on this season which looks like they did already.. then blood them instead of signing players that will stay for a year leave when your losing, give them a shot..its doing us no harm out in balla... and if not send them out to our 19s and we'll do it a waist of very good lads.. hope the manager does the right thing and have faith in them..

That is a very good post , with winning the fai youths you have to have some faith in them or they will leave , i think pike have young players that have been giving a fair chance edward o donovan , boris, cian byrnes, gary neville all under 20 can anyone tell me whos k o hanlon that scored last sunday for pike.

in fairness to balla introducing the 5-6 under 17's last year gave them a real boost.all good, fast, hungry young players.they should defo be given a run.what harm can it do?it didnt do balla or pike any harm.them lads would be flying it next season if they got 10-15 games this season

we got an 18 year in goals this year stephen mac namara keepers are hard to come by its a big step up for him bit of confidance in him is all thats needed.. paudie hickey has gave some great years its a hard job for him to fill that gap. with got no clubhouse or dressing rooms its hard to attract players were hopeing to have them in the near future for the lads coming thru..and with the bitter end closed its easier keep them off the drink ha ha

How come a club like balla have no facilities. They always had schoolboys and youths so would they not qualify for the lotto/sports grants and so on? If any club deserves to have dressing rooms it's them for the amount of work they put in every week.

i agree to certain extent the point your making....
the problem is that a lot of the players directly involved have moved to under 19's league of ireland(4 i think)
two have moved to other clubs, one was tied up in the clare minor hurling team
now of that 7,5 would possibly have been the players you would have expected to step up(as well as madigan)
that's not to say there is more,it's just that the players that left would definitely have been challenging for places as the positions they play in are probably where fairview need to add to.
particularly c/forward(4 of the players who left all played in that position.
i can under stand the management reluctance to introduce to many of the current crop because of this.
still,i think moloney could defo step up,at this moment in time

Seen this young keeper play few times, will be decent if he sticks at it..He has the height and a good kick out.. Is he attending the Academy that Kevin Fitzpatrick and Eddie hickey are running at the moment does anyone know.

They dont own the land that they are playing on...To get grants you have to own your own land..So I believe ???

You also need to be able to borrow Money grants only cover a certain amount of it and the banks aren't lending..
Summerville need a win tonight it's a massive game fingers crossed otherwise the next few months could be tough with a 0 points tally hanging over the players with the tough games to come

With the amount of young lads out there that they get off the road and playing football you would think they would get looked after.
The Regeneration are wasting money all over the shop, you would think they would get them a field.

Star won 2 1, Summerville keeper was lobbed twice, thought Star should have been more comfortable than they were at the end. Hard to see where their first points are coming from. They were pretty poor, and don't have many players who'd get into other premier teams around town., maybe the right back who played but not many others. Its going to be a long season for them.

pike 3-1 corbally.a very even game.a very dubious penalty swung it for pike when corbally were chasing an equaliser.a good performance by us tonight.in saying that though its only a match.results dont matter much after hearing the post above where a young player got a bad injury.best wishes on a speedy recovery to dara
