Boh's only 4 points off the top. I wouldn't have expected that at this stage of the season after the turmoil of the winter. I hope their good form can carry over into Europe.

A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined. First Division '14: 7 first teams.
Opportunity lost for new clubs/regions to join the LoI family.
Derry have the makings of a quality team there. I think a few of the absentees will have a tough time getting back in the team if they keep playing like that.
If you'd told me after 70 minutes that we'd go away disappointed to only lose by a goal I'd have laughed at you. Rovers only turned up for the last 20 minutes when Derry started to tire (partly due to Finn and Turner getting their passing game going in midfield) and created a few really good chances. Doherty was an absolute behemoth - that performance should go down in LOI folklore, not for the volume of saves but for the quality of the 4 he had to make. Fully deserved win for Derry - worthy title contenders.
Really getting exciting now in the title race, Sligo to go top tomorrow at home to Drogheda and Pats have the chance to go top again on Sunday. Derry are looking well capable of mounting a serious challenge also.
7 points clear with a game in hand. Still think Harps can do it!
DID YOU NOTICE A SIGN OUTSIDE MY HOUSE...?
Great game. I was driving past the stadium around halftime and the wee hoods were standing at the bottom of the cemetery, so I await to hear if there has been any trouble. Going off topic but I was reading another forum earlier, and one Shams fan claims one of your buses had the engine stolen during a game at the Brandy about 10 years ago. Can anyone verify if such a thing happened or am I right assuming its just b*ll*x?
after all the hype on the media, websites,, etc,the DERRY v ROVERS game had everthing a game between two top teams have to offer, end to end stuff,v entertaining ,long may it last.

It's happened a few times this season where Rovers have only picked it up when behind. Should really have got an equaliser in the end that one the first hour was never deserved. But Derry were pinned back when Rovers at last went for it with Turner, Kelly and O'Donnell pushing on. There's no reason why Rovers shouldn't have had that urgency and conviction right from the start.
The Model Club
Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.
Why would Derry playing the better football make Rovers less urgent anyway? It's not like Oman and Sives they were sitting down and applauding.
The point I was trying to make is that Rovers were simply stifled throughout the game. I'm sure the urgency to play was there*, but Derry were the better team on the day. Only when Derry took the lead with that fluke, we backed off more which, combined with Rovers' heightened urgency to equalise, allowed Rovers to dominate the midfield in the final minutes. Even then Derry had some decent counter attacks.
*Saying that, there was an awful lot of hoofball by both sides.
End Apartheid Now! One Team in Ireland!
I don't really get this hoofball stuff. The way football seems to be going people think you're either Barcelona or some industrial outfit like Blackburn. I thought Derry played intelligent long balls, but if you have players like McClean and McLaughlin on the wings why wouldn't you? Plus having that option creates space in the middle and that's where Derry made most of their chance from. Rovers did it to great effect against Pats, opening up the room for the 16-pass goal. Sligo do it too even though their fans probably won't admit it. Derry, Rovers and Sligo all play better football than your average English team.

Gas 1 tonight for Willie John Kiely who decided to celebrate his 16th minute goal taunting the Shels fans as if he'd just scored a 90th minute winner against a team who give him constant abuse. Ah sure worked well for him in the end.
Lets redefine what it means to heal
