    weekend games

I see Macroom and Blarney Street both lost at home at the weekend. I already commented on Macroom last week, how are blareny street fixed, they seems to be struggling lately also. I thought at the start of the year they might be in the running?

ALso I see Coachford didnt have it easy in the AOH against Hillington from the 3rd division.

Wilton weren't at their best but in the end deserved the win. I thought both keepers looked suspect from every set piece and from every cross & ultimately it was a keepers mistake that led to the 1st Wilton goal. He flapped at a corner & it was headed home. The View to their credit scored almost straight away & held on till half time. I think Castleview were lucky Wilton were so poor as I was expecting a goal fest from the premier club. The so called big players from Wilton didn't play to their ability so therefore it wasn't the best of games. When Castleview moved their big striker back into the middle, they looked better & passed the ball around a it more. Once Wilton got the 3rd I thought it was a case of how many Wilton would get but they seemed content with the fact that the game was over. Wilton had Paul O' Mahony in midfield which was strange considering how good he is up front. He got 2 but would have been more effective up top. In my opinion Castleview won't challenge in Premier A, i think a top 4 finish would be a good achievement as the top teams in Premier A are strong.
I thought the opposite when they put him back in to the middle it opened it up a bit more for Wilton's midfield as he didn't press the play at all compared to the lad in the first half. Castleview prob should have been in front. Ye got a bollicking at half time I've no doubt sharp.. Went up a gear in the second half and had too much for them.

I never said the keeper was at fault for the Castleview goal but overall I thought both keepers were poor. Yes Wilton played better ball second half but that was to be expected as ye are the Premier side & Castleview were always going to tire.

I think it was always going to open up 2nd half Six as Castleview were going to tire a bit & you would expect the premier outfit would show their class. It is hard sometimes for the big teams to lift it when the opposition are dogged like Castleview are but bar a massive upset Wilton were always going to win the game. Wilton didn't play well but they won the game & that was the most important thing.

Why would Ye think Wilton are any fitter than Castleview, I would be fairly confident Castleview train just as hard as any premier team knowing the manager they have.

I do nt think we ever thought we ld have it easy but were never in any danger of losing the game Pacman as we went out with a good attitude, but Hillington made it difficult for us. We just about had the pitch right for it, however it cut up very badly and that evened it out, the result was all that mattered, scrappy game but delighted to be in the hat for the last 16.

I see Fairview and Glen Celtic did themselves proud in the FAI, they would have been good scalps to take, Fairview might give Kinsale a game in the MJC this weekend if they re not too tired from their trip!!

No doubts castleview or any other prem a teams are as fit if not fitter than your wiltons or kinsales, but no matter how fit you are, your going to get tired faster if you havnt got the ball, you could clearys see the space wilton had in the last 25 mins of the game and there extra quality showed, 4th goal was as classy as your likley to see

If the game in Tipp ends in a draw TSDL will go through - they will have more goals scored. By the way the winners are away to Dublin A.U.L.

The AUL have got the 3 points against the MSL. A bit fortunate but what can you do. Are u sure Tipp will go through with a 0-0 draw. Surely it's goal diff & not goals for. They won 4-1 & AUL 3-0 so I thought they were 100% level/equal going in to game. I thought the AUL would be missing a few but it was a crap night & the game isn't meant to be played till late January. Yes Shane O' Neill is moving on, big loss to AUL but massive loss to Wilton, scored 20 goals in the league from the wing & set up as many. I think it well really affect them. I hope the AUL get something in Tipp, would be nice after all the rubbish that gets posted on here about players, managers etc.
