Was at kinsale game saturday! Watching as neutral I thought the kinsale goalie couldn't do anything about the goals! Two penalties and two great strikes! His kicking wad excellent and handling looked ok! I think kinsales problem is pace at the back! Very suspect with ball over the top! With McCarthy in the team you can't write them off!
BOHEMIANS 1-0 GRATTON UTD
Jeez getting sick of these northside derbys 3 on the trot!!......Another tough game today up in the fairfield no quarters given by bought sides was nt the greatest game in the world but still no one seemed to pull out of a challenge which made the game a bit more exciting with players giving their all!!
Gratton started the better between the 2 teams had us under pressure in the first 10/15 mins but we seemed to cope well enough. We made it 1-0 on the 25 min when Paul Mooney beat his marker and crossed in a suberb ball for "Big" Davy McCarthy who smashed in a bullet header to give us the lead.
Gratton should have levelled it on 35 mins only for there player to shoot way wide when he should have stuck it really........ score stayed 1-0 till the break
2 nd half went by with not much happening ,a bit of hand bags here and there, challenges flying about, but the things what you"d expect in a northside derby....We did have a great chance in the 75 min only for our striker to smack it over the bar when he really should have made it 2 nil.
Had the ball in the net on 88 mins when Wayne O Connor raced onto a ball from Keith Call only to be flagged offside by the ref when he looked a mile on to be honest!!!
Game fizzled out last 2/3 mins and we held out for the win and will take the 3 points......
7 points now from 3 games but will probably expect a lot tougher opposition on Tuesday night down in Park

WE ARE GOING UP I SAID WE ARE GOING UP!!!!! BOHS CHAMPIONS 1A 09/10
An up and down start for Innishvilla AUL 1A team. A good win with 10 men against grangevale, then conceeded 2 early goals against Greenmount despite having enough play and chances to win the game could only get one back. Following it up with an important tight victory away to Milstreet on Sunday morning. Away to old rivals Shandon in St Michael's cup next weekend.
Interesting game this week 2 unbeaten sides Douglas Hall & Dunbar Celtic meet...
”That should be NO problem for the defence – OH NOOOO!!”
George Hamilton...

Nedge and Wesley are two brave men slating a young player. I think it's disgusting behaviour from two fellas with no common decency. If you want to comment on a player fair enough, but do it publicly so we know where it's coming from. Not hiding behind the safety of your screen name. Cowardice. Then you can be put up to the same public scrutiny you have submitted this player to.
As one poster said, he's doing fine, his delivery is super, the rest of the team have to take the blame for not giving him protection. Simple as that.
I agree everyone should be given a chance. I have never saw the young lad playing but there is always going to be comparisons to previous players in same positions and this one is no different.I have played against Kinsale year in year out and its never an easy place to go.Some teams are beating before they even go down there but with the string of bad results teams will feel more confident this year i think
Carrigtohill 2 - Leeside A 3 - at the Stade Louis II :-)
Carrig scored via soft free kick in opening minutes, we levelled though a Ricky Getts header after fair bit of pressure.
Gifted Carrig a second when our Centre Half was beaten one on one. Equalised through great second from Derek Delea.
Used all 3 Subs coz of 3 injuries, and Gonzo came on and scored a good 3rd. Carrig had good chance for equaliser in the end but missed a sitter of a header. Entertaining game, sloppy by us at time. Carrig looked to have a much stronger squad than they did out in Monard. Speaking of which, the Springfield win out there this evening means its all to play for between the 3 sides going into Saturday.
PARK 4-0 BOHEMIANS
Took a thumping tonight down in Park deserved it really never looked like getting something bar a spell here and there where we passed it a bit and made very few chances, 4 players missing and a few carrying knocks, all i can say is that 3 games in the week seemed to take its toll, but hats of to Park they were way better than us tonight passed it better and scored 2 brilliant goals from there centre forward who got a hat trick tonight. He ran us ragged and looks a fine player infairness.
Park led 2 nil at the break one of the them was a rocket from 30 yards that gave our keeper no chance.
2nd haif we pushed but seemed to tire last 20 mins Park scored another 2 goals to wrap it up another one those was another rasper from the edge of the box again keeper no chance.
Out of this cup bar Park hammer Castleview down in park at the weekend which cant see happening to be honest but we ll drive on now have a break now till the league starts hopefully will have everyone back fit and ready!

Carrigtohill 2 Leeside 3
Fairly spot on there boo with the report. Yes it was a soft free kick for the first goal but Davy Barry put it away well direct from the free kick. To be honest we were fairly lucky to be still in the game in the first half with the amount of pressure ye had us under. We were experimenting a little with formations. Second half i felt was a better picture of how we can play. Apart from "one tackle" the game was played in good spirit and in patches both sides played some lovely football. As you said that header at the end and maybe a bounce of a ball we could/should have leveled it. Best of luck to ye next week.
Overall its disappointing with 3 losses but with our first year in the Mossie its been a learning curve for our guys coming into the league.
Mossie Linane Cup - Springfield FC
Game 1 (A) vs Leeside A.
Beaten 1-0, were disappointed not to come away with at least a point from this game. Matched Leeside for all of the game, had a lot of possesion and couple of half chances.
Leeside scored from their one real chance. Felt we should had two legitimate shouts for pens, thought one if not two of their players lucky not to be sent-off and finally to have a goal disallowed at the death by referee, claiming there was a foul in the box prior to the ball being stuck in the net was an absolute joke - seen as the ref couldnt identify who committed the foul or who the foul was on!. Perhaps he was keeping the home support/sidline happy and the so called 'bigger team' happy!.
Game 2 (H) vs Carrigtwohill.
Won 3-2, were on top for majority of this game - despite going behind from an early goal. 3 v.good team goals, and Carrig awarded a soft pen(which they missed), scored form the resulting corner kick.
Game 3 (A) vs Blarney St
Great 1-0 win out in Monard. Bossed from the start and scored midway through 1st half. Thought Blarney were very direct with the long ball(which Springfield dealt with quite comfortably), perhaps with there bumpy/bobbly pitch they didnt try play ball. Springfield tried get the ball down and play football-resulting in there goal-good link up play through the middle and nice finish by striker. Young Ref issued plenty of Yellow Cards-really wasnt a bad tackle in the game.
(On Blarney-dont see them challanging Wilton/Leeside/Kinsale for Prem honours)
Game 4 (H) vs Leeds (Sunday(4th Sept) morning).

was out at that game last nite..felt the ref made it a bitty game very whistle happy and in the 2 games ive seen him id say hes given out twenty yellow cards. ye're goal was a long ball a flick on and a runner that wasnt tracked. ye bossed the last 15mins which was strange as they were chasing the game. they missed a fair few chances 1st half and hit the bar twice. yere better than what i thought though solid out played some good stuff at times . be bang there for premier a.

Ha ha ha. Was waiting for one of our buddies from Cobh to finally post something a week after the fact...............
(1) the penalty "shouts" - if thats what ye class as "opportunities" it says it all
(2) with regard to keeping the sidelines "happy" - ye're line was an absolute disgrace - ye're managers in our players ear the whole time, goading em in an attempt to get some change from the ref (as a matter of fact 1 of them ended up getting asked to leave??? Very Surprising........ Some other comments that came from ye're line towards our players were downright disrespectful to be honest, just coz ye're managers have a history with our club.
(3) the goal ye got disallowed at the end was the CORRECT decision considering ye're player rugby tackled Joe Lyons to the ground and the Ref's whistle was blown very early, while the ball was still in flight. I understand ye're frustration being so close to a good result at the final whistle I suppose.
The only point I agree with you on is that we could have had a player sent off, on that we were lucky.
Ye are a well set up side etc and ye will be one of the favourites to come up of that there is no doubt, but the game in Leeside Park on the whole was a shocker with very few chances between either side to be honest. Good luck for the season.
Post/report regarding matches - what difference does it make when its posted (day/week/2weeks/month)?. Dont see Carrig on saying its 3days after game or Blarney saying its too soon(1day). Didnt see any match report for any of our games - so posted my opinions/thoughts on them here - isn't that what this forum is about???.
Regarding penalty shouts - yer player(think Left Full) on two occasions controlled ball in yer box, ball popped up and hit him on the arm/hand - on another day, maybe another ref would have awarded them!. Never said we classed these as opportunities, only legitimate shouts!. Remember uve to stick the peno aswell after its awarded!.
Did say ''couple of half chances, ... and, Leeside scored from their one real chance''.
Sidelines - cant comment on wat was said from either line towards either sets of players, as I was playing/involved/concentrating on the game taking place on the pitch. One of our managers was asked to leave after the goal being disallowed cos he voiced his anger at the referee's decision to the referee, not cos of any so called 'goading'.
Disallowed goal incident - what I can tell you, from being one of our attacking players in the box. Ur player 'Joe Bloggs', was back pedalling to judge flight of the ball and either tripped over his own leg, yer other centre halfs leg our one of our players legs (clumsy on his account if you ask me) - cant see how this could be classed as a 'rugby tackle' - even down in Thomond Park.
But referee disallowed goal then cos a foul was supposedly committed by one of our players!. How he saw that, God only knows.
Defo should have been down to 10players - maybe again being the home side influenced decision.
Playing well at the moment and hopefully can continue it Sunday vs Leeds and qualify out of group - good achievement, being our frist time in Mossie Linnane Cup!.
Looking forward to tough Season ahead, with promotion being our main aim and a couple of nice runs in a few cups.

Lets start the season as we mean to go on here - Lets not knock other people's facilities and/or pitches. Whats there is there - lots of guys working hard off the field and they dont deserve abuse. Like all club VOLUNTEERS, they deserve praise for every minute they spend on club business. Blarney Street have some lovely footballers and I have seen them produce on more than one occassion on their home ground, so if they didnt get to play "lovely football" then you may be giving yourselves a diservice. Maybe ye didnt let them play. Was it only 2 seasons ago that yoursleves were relegated to Division 2? The football pendulum swings back and forth. As the old saying goes dont burn any bridges on your way up.....you will need them on the way down.
Just remember, every kick makes me stronger and more determined. Indians always come back!
Offside it seems that of all the teams in the AUL for some reason your team seems to get the most comments regarding ye're line. We had numerous examples during last season and the very first report related to ye this season has a comment again.
Now maybe im wrong but it just seems that way to me.
have to agree with fellow posters on here!! there always seems to be trouble regarding Springfields line - and also there always tends to be incidents when one ref in particular is involved - must study the fixtures and see if it was him again!!
No one doubts their football knowledge - and they have been responsible for turning around Springfields fortunes but as for their people skills - well.........................

Sorry thebooboys i just had a look to see who the referee was ! You are correct he is a good ref . They normally win or get the points when the other ref is involved so i should have known it wasnt him !!!!!
both are decent ref's in my opinion
One is a good ref . As for the other - he is a good ref if you are involved with Springfield haha
Hi Lads,
Haven't been on in a while due to the fact there's not too much to report from my club (Gratten), well not too much good news anyway!. I went down to watch the Leeside v Carrig match as a neutral spectator as a few of my friends are now playing with Leeside. Wasn't a great match to be fair, quite scrappy, didn't understand why Leeside would play so defensively when it was quite obvious that Leeside had far more footballers in their team than Springers (I don't mean to offend any Springfield players/fans). Leeside seemed to invite trouble on themselves and defend very deep, quite happy to 'slug it out' as such. They were very lucky to finish with 11 men to be fair, Delea should have saw red, but have to admit though, some of the snide/ignorant comments coming from the Springers line was way over the top!. Every 50/50 that didn't go their way, they complained about ! and gave the ref and Leeside players a mouthful at every available opportunity. I must commend the Springers players though for the way they conducted themselves, it must be hard to concentrate with all that bickering from the line (especially that foxy guy). I've a funny feeling that if the Springers line keep carrying on like this, it will cost them dearly as the season progresses.
