Thanks oldlegs but I'm not looking for congratulations for anything Kinsale have done. (if I used references to Kinsale it's because I know more about them than any other AUL club)
I'm trying to point out why teams are looking to leave the AUL.
I'm trying to point out where I think the AUL needs to improve.

As for Kinsale and their facilities: I'm not a committee member and do not know the details of any deals that were made with the council.
But I'd imagine a lot of negotitations were done to get some land that could not be developed on (too close to Charles Fort).
An awful lot of time and money was spent developing a rough piece of land into what is there at present.
And there is still plenty to be done.
Well done I say to that negotiating team - they did a great job for their club.
I'm sure the council won't ring up any club and just say "would you like some land?"

But like I said earlier I do not have the exact info on this.

Silverheights and Clashduv Road are both council owned.
    No comparison I think?

Three posters sound exactly the same to me!! Any guesses who I mean.

Shilts, you make some good points. what's your solution to the football in Cork situation to cover all from Avondale down to a team I know who started in 1999 with nothing? How would you fix it?

We were told at the AGM that the glass ceiling was put in by MSL. They didn't show to meeting a few years ago to discuss one league.

Best for Cork soccer in my opinion is one league with various off pitch criteria at various stages of promotion. In an ideal world it would be backed by a pitch owned by the league ala Murphys Farm. Criteria for new teams would be tough but fair to allow teams of friends to play.

Both sets of administrators are doing great work and have to be brave enough to ignore old wounds. Together they could make even more happen.

what level is that then?? division 1 champions? come back to me when ye establish yerselves in the premier can start talking about levels then. talk is cheap and potential can go unfufilled. best of luck for the year.

no one can knock yere year last year. great season but its exactly what ye should have done with the players at yere disposal. ye have to go and do it again this year and the year after. only team imo!!!! that reached any sort of level was kinsale up to last year obviously. when ye do something like that then you can label it the glens level.
