Agreed. This has been a long season and for these two clubs the end is in sight.I think Friday evening will be close and I could see it going beyond the 90 minutes.Broadford to shade it.

Shannonside 5 - 0, that is if ye decide to play soccer this time instead of going out to cripple lads like ye did last week, what goes around comes around though

I find it hard to disagree with leon on this, as I said earlier a few of the early challenges, particularly on Power were over the top. As for a prediction, Broadford but only just may even go all the way to penaltys as both teams will know each other so well now, very hard to call, but hopefully it will be a better game for the neutrals.

I think it will go to pens BoyBlue and for Broadford to win.

hopefully fridays replay will be better than last weekends game...thought there would be more in the crowd.. glad to see they lowered the price from 10 quid to 8 quid..some of the tackles on daniel power were very bad..one of them in my opinion should have been a sending off..hopefully more people will turn up and see both teams battle it out for the cup..im gonna say all the way to penalties and anyone of the teams to win it..best of luck to both sides

As another season ends i've heard a number of clubs will be looking for a new manager over the summer. As the season spans 10 months of the year I can see clubs struggling to get someone in place i think the league need to look at this in the coming seasons before it becomes a bigger problem and paying managers will become the norm. Anyone agree/disagree ?

I think in the current climate and taking into account the length of the season, paying a manager is probably expected now especially if the man you want is not affiliated with your club.
If thats the way it has to be then I would have no objection. We all know it has already been done in this league.
It adds a bit of spice to it anyway, puts things up another level
The GAA do it at club level and they say its not allowed, so its fair game obviously
Depends on who you want, if you offered €15K a year you could have anyone you wanted I reckon

How many clubs in the desmond league you think are able to afford to pay a manager?? Most clubs are barely balancing the books every year to be able to keep the club running as it is!
Alot of clubs have to do fund raising events to be able to pay for equipment/referess/physio and doctor bills... if you were to start paying managers, you'd see alot of teams going under!

Unfortunaley being a manager in the desmond league is a thankless job usually, and people often take a good manager for granted!
But I don't see it as a possiblity for clubs to pay managers until there is more support for clubs from the FAI for funding and development.

Not many, but Abbey and NCW both did a couple of seasons ago, there is at least another one or two that paid expenses (to players too).
And I agree that 95% cant even pay the ref without players contributing.
It will never happen in the desmond league, not while all clubs are competing with the GAA for local support.
My point is that I have no objection to any club doing it if they can, plus it adds another dimension to the whole thing.
No club would go under just because another club is paying a manager, players win trophies no matter how good a manager they have, and players in this league are for the most part fairly loyal to their local team, mabey it would be different if they were closer to each other.

Fantastic season for Carrig with both A and B team winning league and league cup doubles

    Shannonside 1 Broadford Utd 0.
The only goal of the game scored by Eoin OConnor with a 35 yard free kick in the first half

Mikeys' on crutches but will be fine. Good to see Anthony Mulvihill back tonight as well after his nasty bang last week...

I thought it would take something special to seperate 2 very evenly matched teams and that's exactly what we got last night, brilliant goal from O'Connor good enough to win any cup final.Mostly stop start due to the amount of free kicks probably suited shannonside better once they got ahead, and broadford didn't really create a clear cut chance in the 2nd half.well done to shannonside on their 2 cup wins,I don't think many gave them a chance! Good news that Clancy & mulvihill are both ok following injuries in the 2 games.
Now that the season is over let the rumor mill start, gets worse every summer.
