Well who do you think the always fair and insightful British media/fans will blame for last night?

Hee he hee! Apparently they're going for beckham in their poll

Is there anybody who doesn't love the reaction of them...

    From John Terry:
"It's terrible. The linesman gave it but the ref overruled him."
So who's job is it to spot fouls again...

"I think the keeper fouled his own player."
Despite no defender being there? No John, it was you doing the fouling

"We didn't get much luck with the referee. He wasn't great but there's no point in us coming out here and giving the ref loads of stick. We had chances to win the game and we didn't."
Apart from the header, remind me...

I have to say fair play to Michael Owen last night who refused to blame the penalty spot "I think they missed because of it too..." and was the only England player to mention that Portugal played well

No way, no way in a million no ways is he anywhere near POTT. He runs into the corner, steps over the ball 23 times, and puts in a bad cross.

Apart from his great header against Greece, he hasnt impressed at all IMO.

    Angry In a word, Scum

This is an extract from 'The fiver' in 'The Guardian'

    IN THE MEIER

The morning after Sven-Goran Houllier's England were dumped out of
Euro 2004, the Daily Star summed up the mood of its fat-faced
readership. 'What an Urs Hole' it fumed, pointing a xenophobic finger
at poor Urs Meier, the Swiss referee who had the temerity to spot
John Terry climbing all over Portugal keeper Ricardo before Sol
Campbell's 'goal'. Soon the Sun and the Daily Asylum Seeker were
getting stuck in too. The annual English search for a scapegoat had
    begun.

Only this time it's been even nastier than usual. And today, sadly,
Meier was forced to go into hiding with 24-hour police protection
after receiving death threats from England fans. "I am taking these
threats very seriously," Meier admitted. "The police are here with me
now as we speak. I'm not going to leave Switzerland but am somewhere
where nobody knows me." The Swiss ref also attacked the papers for
"going after my family and digging into my private life", adding:
"I'm not afraid for my own life, but I am afraid of what might happen
    to my loved ones."

If that wasn't bad enough, a Swiss girl was yesterday kicked to the
ground and left with a broken arm by a mob of English fans on the
Greek Island of Zakynthos. Why? Because they spotted her wearing a
Switzerland t-shirt. "One of them hit me in the face with his fist
and I fell to the ground because of the force of his punch,"
explained Manu Peyer. The shaven-headed attackers then began kicking
her as she lay on the floor. When the attack was over, Ms Peyer had a
swollen eye, a bruised nose and a broken arm. Makes you proud to be
    English, doesn't it?
