That was some performance last night and if that performance level is maintained for the rest of the season, the league title is coming to The Showgies. Joey was wired and Jason McGuinness was not far behind. Blinky had his best outing of the season and Cookie seems to have found slots for Raf and Alan Kirby. Don't fcuk it up in Bray now, lads.
The team, played as a team! Thought Keane was back to his best, Greene really did great stuff, McGuinness was commanding and Peers, as usual, pure class. Kirby [delighted he got standing ovation] and Raff, provided great link up and while Ryan and N'Do were a little off the pace none-the-less Rovers had enough good interplay in midfield to supply the wings. Doyle played well, and Blinks provided a target up front, although he spent a lot of time diving and whinging.
I thought Dillon played really well [what a pass to Doyler] and Russell grafted. All in all, a brilliant game, the atmosphere in the last 10 minutes was electric.
Re the relatively poor attendance, the weather was dire all day and therefore, the fair-weathers stayed away, they missed a fantastic evening's football.
Let's hope Rovers will continued good work. Jez this league is tight!
