It turns out that a Great Britain and NI team, controlled by the FA, competed in the Olympics up until 1972, although the last Olympics for which they qualified were the games in Rome in 1960.
It wouldn't be the first time players from Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland represented GB in the olympics
