stelling just on dundrums pitch you will find alot worse pitches in div 1 of the tsdl let alone the whole league it is a better field than at least 3 or four in div 1.

Saints won 7 nil today Richie Ryan 2 Chalky 2 Jimmy Carr 2 and Breeno 1. That result from Clonmel is true Town were beatin 3 2 by Dundrum mad stuff. Game was switched to Clonmel as Dundrum pitch was unplayable!

poor result for town but they are a team in transition as said earlier. i too remember the sarsfield rovers result against saints and todays town result very similar to that. best thing town can do now is forget about it with huge derby match next sunday and concentrate on that. Its going to be a strange tipp cup with town, cashel and celtic all out already and either saints or peake going to be gone in the 2nd round as they play next. Great chance for one of the lower division sides to get a run going and maybe make final
if it wasnt for birds and booze id have played for ireland juniors!!!!!

I always get a great kick out of this "in transition" thing whenever a big team loses, when do Manchester United for example go through a transition, there is no such thing, the players that left Town that had won all the medals Barnes,Smurf,Clery,Comerford,Stephen Ryan were all only 27,28 which is very young in junior football,Town and Saints should be competing at the business end of all the cups and anytime there not its FAILURE not transition, transition is an excuse branded about by people who do not understand or simply never played at a top club, you wont hear Tony Scully or Paul Scully tell you "ah were in transition" after a defeat

Town had only 3 or 4 regulars in there team today. if saints lost 7 or 8 of there squad they would be in transition too.
town are a great club and im sure this is only a minor blip and they will be back. failure is not a word i would assocciate with a great club like Clonmel Town.
One could say failure would be Saint Michaels over past 7 or 8 years with no league or fai if you are going to be so black and white on what is success and failure . big teams do have off days look at pike today nearly knocked out of fai so hooper74 i think your bit harsh with your comment at end of day any team can slip up thats beauty of cup football

Your not getting what im saying,im not calling either team failures,i am making the point that both clubs set such high standards that they would not hide behind excuses like being in transition, you can be sure Jamie is not looking for excuses, today was obviously just not good enough

Harsh and stupid. Results like this happen. I hate when comparisons with Manchester United are made on junior soccer forums. For Gods sake keep it real. Clonmel Town will be hurting but will get over it. Fair dues to Dundrum but its a freak result.

I must say i wasnt at all surprised that Town lost yesterday and i know people will say easy to say that now but the amount of injuries they had plus the tipperary youth team playing and the county minor gaelic trials both on yesterday left Jamie with 24 players he couldnt pick from which would dismantle any team if ye look at there results the B team also took a hiding from Bansha as apparently they were struggling to get a team together for the game aswel. Its a silly situation to have the youth game played on the same day as junior games but that was the waterfords league choice.

    Foot.ie!

If games are not played when there is an available slot you end up with a fixture pile up which renders the whole exercise meaningless.
It's not often I agree with WDJL but on this occasion it would seem that they were left with few options.

No disrespect but town could field 2 teams yesterday 22 players and shud have been too good for dundrum no matter who was on the team ( does anyone have towns team) I do appreciated the injury situation it seems to be bad but saints had it just as bad at the start of the season
Which resulted in our b team getting a few hammering as lads were moved up to cover 1st team
Despite others on this forum saying otherwise town are in transition that's a fact just look at the players that have left / retired last 2 seasons and these players have not been replaced and I think the players that have come in are no where as good as the players they lost which results in a weaker squad and when you get a spate of injuries which all clubs get during a season that's the root of the problem at town , where is the munster youths winning team ? They should be backboning the team

munster youth squad havent stepped up is fair to say. Lot of those lads tied up with gaa and with tipp going well at underage level aswell as clubs locally in clonmel having success playing with town doesnt seem top of their priorities. Great result for Peake yesterday you could sense they had a big performance in them have a good solid team put together and should win sunday in the fai. As for celtic, there title ambitions have taken a serious hit going to have to win every game from here on if they are to stand a chance

good post there rightboy but the only thing i will say is alot of the town b team squad may have been cup tied with the b team which would enable them to play for 1st's yesterday as it was a cup game. injuries happen to all clubs at all levels and town should still have been too strong for dundrum but thats the romance of the cup. i hope town can get a few back in time for the fai game sunday they have a great tradition in this competition and their season is more or less riding on sundays game. good win for saints again yesterday against a very game wildies surely saints to lose after celtic losing in thurles yesterday.

I was told by a very reliable Town supporter that the Town A team had 2 Youths playing and one on the bench who do not even start for their Youth side, i think that tells it all, they must have been seriously short. Does anyone think Town were entitled to get the game off as a Youth Oscar Traynor match was on and Town have 2/3 Youths in their panel anyway. If Michaels B were entitled to surely Town should have been...

I can understand you been upset about the town result but to bring saints into your point of view is both silly and factually incorrect on the following grounds
    A) saints rarely use youths on b team as they are a bit young and yesterday saints had a panel of 16 going to moyglass
    B) I think you will find moyglass called game off due to their pitch unplayable , hopefully moyglass lads will confirm this for you
I think your reliable source was taking the pee but it's no harm to nip this in the bud as we don't want to feed the anti saints brigade on this
    A) saints rarely use youth

when he mentioned michaels b he was on about them getting oldbridge game called off cause of oscar traynor earlier in season. and also having seen saints b teams first 3 games off the season the team was made up off 60% or more youth players cause of lads playing gaa with arravale, oola, bansha etc. so your point is invalid about them not having youths playing junior. and the point made earlier was just that town should have asked tsdl for game off due to town players playing tsdl youths is as valid as saint michaels b getting there game against oldbridge pulled over 1 or 2 players who havent played b team since.
its not an anti saints brigade on this either, as much as ye would like to believe just a few genuine tsdl football fans who are standing up for town when alot of saint fans come out of the woodwork on the monday town suffer one of there worst ever defeats

Balls if you read my post properly you would have seen I said rarely did saints use youth players on b team I didn't say they never used them and what u said is quiet correct at the start of season saints had a horrendous injury crisis and players were moved up and unfortunately our b team got a hiding or 2 . As for coming out of woodwork if you check back to my first post I made it quiet clear I was a saints supporter and ur last point about about moyglass/ old brigade I apologise not a mind reader I presumed he was talking about yesterday , but I take the points u made but whether u agree or not I'm not on today to bash town

Isn't the Town/Celtic game now taking on more importance. It is unthinkable Town could be out of all cup competition. And Celtic cannot be too happy with their form of late, lucky to beat Tipperary Town and beaten yesterday. Would like to see the betting on this one. As for Nenagh/St.Michaels, I think Saints have their biggest test since last years final. Nenagh are having a tremendous season and are very confident of victory. I think Peake Villa and Bansha will make it through okay.

bansha are coming good. have some good young attacking players out there. clodiagh rangers were lucky to beat cashel and galbally in previous rounds. they have a very good keeper clodiagh but if bansha play to potential they may get the win. peake should win aswell, the win last sunday should give them confidence. i fancy town to beat celtic. the loss to dundrum should galvanise town and i expect huge performance out of them.
I agree nenagh are flying but saints should have too much. Jimmy carr, richie ryan and pa quinn have serious pace and will get at least a goal between them and we all know how good saints defence is, so i can see them getting the result maybe after extra time. This will definatly be saints biggest test of season, nenagh if in tsdl this season would prob be leading it with saints in my opinion they have a better team this season than the current clonmel town, celtic, peake villa teams
if it wasnt for birds and booze id have played for ireland juniors!!!!!
