agree with inside the rock about referees. Also there is not much ref can do if a thug is going to behave like.
if it wasnt for birds and booze id have played for ireland juniors!!!!!

This happened after just 10 mins in to the game, the lad that throw the punch had kicked out twice and dragged the lad back a few times, no foul or even a talking to was given, an experienced ref would have had it in hand well before the punch was thrown.
Try telling his Mother who was at the game that the Age of the Ref made no difference. A 15 or 16 year old by their nature will not have respect for a lad only a couple of years older than them. Parents give their Children to clubs on a Saturday and expect them to be protected and that the Care of Duty is being upheld by all involved in organizing the League.

Thats true WH. Any overly-aggressive behaviour needs to be nipped in the bud straight away. Having said that a lot of refs (even the "experienced" ones) are too afraid to send lads off for violent behaviour. And when they do, they often try to even things out which is wrong. When I was that age we'd often have to endure a whole match of off the ball sh*te because of refs not taking a firm stance. Its innocent kids who get hurt at the end of the day and they ultimately walk away from the game.

And you would probably have eejits here saying that if refs clamped down hard on violent or abusive behaviour early on, that they "didn't understand the game", they were "turning it into a non contact sport" etc etc.. refs should be tougher.. back chat to refs or abuse, straight red.. no messing... violent behaviour, straight red, no messing... dirty tackles.. whether they connect or not, straight red.. no messing..
And quite frankly, soccer, rugby, GAA whatever.. should make match reports available to the Guards if violent behaviour results in an injury to a player.. no messing..
whats sides were playin the game that the guy had his jaw broke? saw Town for the first time this season yesterday, quite impressed, have alot of good young players, tall guy came on there in the 2nd half and was a serious addition, think it was fahey who was playin in the tipp county minor team, great goals scored too, town are lookin not bad
Clonmel Celtic v Bansha, lad from Bansha had his jaw broken.
what was town starting 11 on sunday ? Fahey should be another big addition to them. I thought he played his football with a club up in dublin? im sure town are delighted to have him back.

burke, shanahan, cleere, stanley, loughnane, scully, quinlivan, whelan, mcgrath, hynes & tynan
mcgrath hobbled off with a groin, looked serious
thats tough luck on the young lad, hopefully celtic will deal with it and appropriate action taken within the club
Who scored towns goals on Sunday?
tony scully, quinlivan, whelan, jimmy hynes and owen walsh
I heard thurles had two players sent off. What was that for?
first one was harsh, didnt see the 2nd one but they were awful mouthy, their keeper after each goal kept kicking away the ball over the wall to the frustration of town, it was funny at one stage, thurles made a bit of a show of themselves i thought from what i seen of it
