Attended Villa v Town game today. Decent game maybe missing the bite of their usual meetings but still both teams played a easy on the eye brand of ball. Villa shaded first half and should have converted at least 2 of 3 good chances they created but found themselves behind right on half time when town scored from a corner. Town as always good from set pieces and following a few bad corners this one was hit with pace and villa failed to cut it out at front post and good finish from the unmarked striker, their other only real chance was a free kick which was well saVed by Villa keeper, who looks very decent, talking of keepers Richie was in goals for Town was this another last game!!!!!!! While Town were the better
side in 2nd period Villa were always in the game, turning point was Mick Ryans withdrawal due to injury it cost them pace and a bit of cutting edge and Towns attacking Villas left side which was a a bit weak and eventually the full back got caught on wrong side of striker and conceded a pen, well put away by Scully. Game over. Town lacking something not sure what it is but will comment after I have seen them a few more times. Right full back best player for them today. Villa much changed but some very useful players, Blonde guy in middle of field impressive, good runs into box and should have scored twice, needs a bit more fitness. Also new Center half with Leahy very decent. Over all Town are Town and write them off at your peril, personally don't think they will win league looking at today's game but that could change. Villa are rebuilding and I think they will finish in top 4 but need a cutting edge up front to really make a stir. Best player for Villa blonde guy in middle of park. Sorry that I can't put names on players assume Mega Tots will fill in the blanks on the Villa side. By the way the Ref did ok based simply on the fact he was the Center of attention as some of them are prone to be.

richie has played his last game for Town, who scored the other Town goal along with Scully?
jimmy hynes scored the other goal and was brought down for the peno
Sgt bilko
If Ritchie is leaving town , who have the lined up to come in as they really have no senior goalie in the club no disrespect to the young keepers there
The talk is Jamie flahertys son, think he is a youth player, richie got his form signed after today's game, that was the deal. Don't think that guy was available today as he was playin wit Tipperary
Anyone know the town team that lined out? Was the assistant and Mick comer ford back for town?
Town can't afford to rely on youth keeper , not fair to him playing youths on Saturday and then juniors Sunday a real tough ask for him I presume he not available for a while as tipp won , might be worth their while to ask stephen o neill he keeps himself in good shape ,
Anyone at saints match today I missed it how did it go performance wise ?
Yeh he could be an option alright, he must be 40 or so, is he still involved wit the club? You probably need to look at a younger option though.
dont agree with you rightboy if the young lad is good enough why shouldnt he play
Not disputing his not good enough but I have seen so many good young lads burned out over the years and also you have to look at him if he picks up an injury he won't be able to recover properly as I said not disputing the talent
But we all no how tough it us to play full junior season let alone line out for youths
fair point but maybe if they had the older lad as back up it might work
I think that's best option , I just like to see young lads play at their own age group first and then develop from there
Stephen O'Niell is the secretary of the Schoolboys at Clonmel Town. Would be very surprised if he came out of retirement.
I heard from a fairly reliable source tonight that another 1 of Towns players is off to Limerick, boywonder you might know more? very difficult time for the club at the moment
