Another one of those crazy games for us this. We went ahead early with a fine header from Joe Horan, then added to it when Olly Kenny powered home an even better header. Philip Coffey scored our third with a cheeky flick and all was well in our quest for the vital 3 points. Then half time happened, and we sent out the same players but we totally lost the plot and conceded two and could have been pinned back for a point. But we held strong and came away with the win. Delight isn't the word really, and hopefully we'll kick on now from here.
Best for us: Easily young Corey Mc Callum our u17's full back on his debut.

    Sunday Nov 20th

Surely Mungret cannot be asked to play 2 games, one after the other on Saturday and Sunday...?
    Whats the story there?

The dines looked liked certs for the title a few weeks ago but are beginning to slip up, Shannon hibs could be the Summerville of the premier next season, not near good enough for premier!!! Will be some joke if pike b finish in promotion places and can't go up. Player for player they are best team in division.

Im sure all 1A clubs will admit they are not strong enough for premier next year but if promoted clubs know they will have to strengthen squads or else end up like Shannon town last year and Summerville this year..

Are you serious? pike B are nowhere near the best team in the division, geraldines Shannon hibs, Shannon town and in my view granville all better then pike B.. dont know why granville are so low in the division think there one of the better teams,

Well they've beaten Geraldine's,Granville and Shannon hibs,so they must be some it handy, when they have their full squad to pick from that are on a par with all those ye mention if not better, they have the best strike force in the division by a country mile, with JEFF mc,Frankie Stewart,Dermot phelan and last but not least mark phelan, and that's a fact, stats speak for themselves.

Goals for: Pike = 35 versus Geraldines = 34 and Hibs = 35. Stats really do justify that they have 'the best strike force by a country mile'

lads, there's not much between any of the top 4 as the results so far between them have shown. knowing the hibs team at the moment they have been playing very well but at the start of the league they were slow to start, losing to the dines, pike & granville. imo opinion pike gave hibs a lesson in shannon but at the pike field they were poor and hibs played well. dines beat hibs by the odd goal in shannon but hibs were very unlucky to not take even a point from that game. granville came to shannon and really put it up to hibs and won, why can't they do that most weeks tho or maybe they are just unlucky this year.

So to sum it up, None of the top 3/4 are by far better then each other. Its all on the day

Intresting debate lads, here's my tuppence worth:
Having played all teams in the division now, I have to say that at full strength, Pike B are the best team. But not by a lot. Geraldines would be a close second with Shannon Hibs and a full strength Ball B also very tough. But as is the way with almost all B teams, Pike and Balla struggle to field their best side week in week out and this is hindering their chances at silverware. I think at the half way stage it is a race between these 4 for the title, and with the Dines rocking a bit and the Hoops brilliant then poor I think the lads from Shannon might just sneak it. But it is only halfway and anything is possible.
On the subject of strikers mentioned above, Jeff Mc is for me the best player in the division, not just striker.
To the chap who likes melons, we won twice in Shannon this season (FAI and league) so I understand and appreciate your admiration, but we've struggled elsewhere. Hopefully we can still put a run together and pull away from the mire.

The 4 strikers I mentioned would get on any of the teams in this division, who is top scorer in this division by the way, just curious, what I said was that they have the best strikers in the division and they have, and in Eddie lee the best midfielder along with christy Oneill from Geraldine's,Shannon teams string a few results together and they think they are invincible,I see Shannon town last week and they are cat, dines and pike for me 2 best teams in this division IMO.park,Shannon, hibs,Newtown or whatever their called these days will win no league.

Thats simply not true..has anyone from Shannon Town ever come onhere suggesting we are invincible? We have had some good results lately....beating Balla beating Pike B beating Summerville and an away draw against Geraldines...But we are far from invincible and we are no mugs, We know we need to improve if we want to compete. And we started slow losing games we shouldn't have and we are now playing catch up. But thems the breaks especially in junior football.

The league table doesn't lie and Dines and Hibs are Currently the top 2 in the division, we'll see once may comes around how it pans out, I'm sure Dines, Pike B and Hibs will all be up there!

Was just giving opinion and for me pike b are best team in division, the disadvantag they have is they can't be promoted and they will also lose a few to gaa come February. For me christy o'neill is best player in 1a, would stroll onto any premier midfield outside top 2, class player
