Can anyone else see the logic of playing simon cox ahead of shane long?
Cox was impressive but why should he jump ahead of long who has done his service of being in squads and when his talent begins to shine through as our 3rd striker anyway, why should simon cox who recently declared jump ahead of him?
wrt starting Cox against Macedonia, like a good racehorse trainer can tell a horse's form from his daily training runs, I expect Trap / Tardelli just felt Cox was sharper and in a better frame of mind than Long at that time. It's tough on Long, and I personally prefer Long. I'm glad Cox is on board though. Good player and he seems to be a very positive guy to have about the place.
