they seem to be getting slated from corners of the press for under-estimating cork city and a few papers are going with the under-estimating stories.

AFAIK they fielded their strongest available team like us. They clearly were unprepared for us though.

I was surprised that they put out as stong a team as they did.
Didn't expect that Grahn, Skoog, and Alfonso Alvez would all start.
Basically all they were missing was P Andersson and Asper who are both good players..but we were missing Hoggy, Billy, and Nwankwo.
So thats fairly even then.

There wasnt that much written about the match. But what articles Ive found they either call the result a chock or embarrassing. Some of the fans are taking of boycotting the return match. If it wasnt for the Euro champs if probably would of got more attention. Anyway theyre confident they will go through in the end.

I was talking to a fella from Stockholm the other night and he was fairly happy with the way things were going at that stage (City 2 up at half time)

He reckoned that it was Malmo's first choice back four playing so they can't really get much stronger there. Although bringing in a better keeper will help them

It wasn't there first choice back 4 - they were missing Mattias Asper in goal and Patrik Andersson. Asper will certainly play on Sunday with Andersson 80% today.

Jon Inge Hoiland and Andreas Yngvesson will also come into the set up. Although Yngvesson aggravated an injury yesterday they still seem to say he will be playing.

There is also a (very slim) chance that Osmonosvsky, in the process of signing from Torino in Italy, will play as well. Cork will do very well to hold out, the last time they got slated by the press here they cam out and scored 5 goals against decent opposition.

In all fairness the top Irish clubs would easily hold their own in the Swedish allsvenskan. The fact is that no Swedish team has beaten anyone of note in european competition for over five years! and if youre calling Örebro or Elfsborg as decent opposition look again.
