    Wexford Youths

If this was last season I would be very worried about a game like this and while I'm sure the Youths will make it tough for us I'm confident we will come out in the end, its great having someone like Cowan in your team, your always confident of scoring no matter how the games going, think this type of game might suit Ozzie too.

Prediction = Town 2-1 , cowan to score , town to go 2-0 up with a late Wexford goal making us nervous as always happens

I'd say we are probably in for the lowest attendance so far this season.

yeah you werent too far wrong 150 people I reckon were at it.. Happy with the win.. Aussies goal was when he stuck his foot to a morley cross and cathal brady one was a great solo effort! the reffing was a joke once again how youths got a peno I never know when Hylo clearly won the ball.. but at long last at the sixth attempt we finally beat youths at home in the league!

It was Des who made the tackle Marty, and he definitely didn't get the ball. Clear penalty. The officials are rubbish, but they're rubbish for both teams in fairness.

As for the game, we were much better than them and we could have scored a few more if we were half arsed. Must win again now on Monday to keep this decent run going.

Good win, thought we got a bit sloppy second half and it nearly cost us. Shame Skelly went off injured, that looks a 2 or 3 week job. Lee Roche had a shocker when he came on unfortunately.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Far from a vintage performance but with Cork and Limerick playing each other next week this was a crucial win, Mervue United game is massive now with 2 of the teams above us playing each other.

My only criticism from last night would be we didnt show a killer instinct. We were cruising at 2-0 but let them back in far too easy and it nearly cost us dear. Hate to sound like Andy Gray but goodness me 2 women lino's in 2 weeks and both had no business been near a footie pitch, shocking performances.

On the peno, Hope defo didn't get the ball my only question mark over it was it inside or outside the box as the line was very hard to see from where i was sitting but after having a better look it was defo a peno.

Skelly could be seen saying he tweaked his groin so hopefully he picked it up before any damage could be done as we have a crucial patch in the season ahead.

assume longfordian you are referring to the blunder paddy collins made near the end when youths should have scored but instead was blazed over the bar from close in!

Yeah that in particular but just a general easing off. It wasn't helped by both Cowan and Skelly going off, if we'd managed to have one of them on they'd have given a better outlet. Overall, I hadn't seen them in a few weeks for various reasons but they're shaping up well. Just need to get some points off the teams above us now and keep up the consistency against the others.

Garry Cronnin not getting tight to his man was the main cause of our problems and he tucks in so narrow it leaves huge space on the wings, there was one incident where the ball was flicked on by a wexford player and for some reason cronnin went flying in even though there was already a town man covering him and when he went flying in ne left massive space in behind and it almost cost us a goal.
