It's a bit surprising Castlebar and Tullamore haven't signed up for this. It seems a good level for progression in the game.

Jesus; there's no small clubs in there. Unless it's going to grow to include a qualifying round, we'd get utterly thumped in that.
Interesting idea though, and would certainly add a bit of interest to the competition.
Just asked someone who'd know. Definitely true alright. He reckons the NextGEn competition will be expanded to 24, with maybe a play off round. Nothing decided yet but an irish team will be in there

This has been on the Rovers website for the last few weeks. Sounds great but my only question would be funding. How do you pay for 3 away trips for your under-19 team? Particularly if that division is won by Pats or Rovers, for example, who's first teams are also likely to be involved in European competition next season.
Would affect us as well - we've bugger all money and would be one of the favourites for the title I assume (given how well we do at underage level). I don't see how we'd afford three foreign trips tbh.
That said, UEFA prize money does seem to cover travel expenses for the main tournament, and with no trips to Kazan or Astana in the tournament as yet, maybe less prize money would cover the expenses?
How did Rovers pay for the UEFA Futsal Cup? Was there any prize money going for that?
Only heard about it the first time yesterday as well on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011-12_FAI_U19_League
It wasn't on that site last week so guess someone updated it in the last few days. Good idea though, gives the league more of an edge.

Are clubs outside of the league of Ireland and now scrapped A Championship allowed join this league. Let's say Castlebar and Tullamore decide to comeback in the next few years, will they be allowed to join?
