[QUOTE=Macy]He was banned from Alty, as he was bad luck (must have kept going, minus head considering where they're languishing around now). Only a glory hunter anyway, ditching Timperley Big Shorts every time Alty had a cup run. Used to go a few Altrincham games (and also a few Bury games), some great games in the early rounds of the Cup - Clive Freeman against Chester* (when they were still a league team) won Goal of the Month. Sad to see their demise when the likes of Macc went on to the league (Alty were always the better club!).

Macy - in real life he's a City fan.

Top bloke though, stayed in ours whenever he was playing in Dublin. Total and utter alcoholic, had to Western Union his gig fees back to his missus after every show so he wouldn't drink it.

Lived in the Isle of Man....for tax reasons.

Yeah, knew he was a liar - think he did some on the pitch stuff for them pre Moonchester , and I think he put out some version of blue moon....

Most siddy fans have "problems" so not surprised he's a dipso.

In fairness Marr & Morrissey made them

Is Electronica still on the go? I remember Marr having a stint in The The, but haven't heard much from him since then
Seem to remember a rather excellent quote from mozzer circa 94. When asked if The Smiths would get back together he said no. when asked asked if he'd ever work with Marr again he said "Well if he gets tired of his Metallica nonsense my door is always open"
" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"

didnt he have a small puppet version of himself who he would incorporate into the act.:frank junior i think he called it.
    he was an absolute star.
was that a peg on his nose or something as he sounded permanently blocked up.

"Manly" music? As played by musicians with long hair, make up, nail varnish...

Puppet was called little Frank and he had a girlfriend called Denise. As part of the act big Frank disliked little Frank, which even for an stage show could be seen as a little worrying.

His compilation ABC&D is difficult to find but well worth getting hold of, for the aforementioned ‘I should be so lucky’, the football songs and particularly his cover of Anarchy in the UK called Anarchy in Timperly.

Took your advice and threw out all my Cure albums and bought some Saxon CD’s a few Whitesnake and a couple of Kiss records.
And do you know what your right, my testosterone levels jumped by500%, I got voted the worlds greatest and most prolific lover, got selected for the Irish weight lifting team for the Olympics, got a job as a lumberjack and then went out and drank 50 pints of Stella and didn’t get drunk.

The only problem is now everyone thinks I’ve got sh*te taste in music
