The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
that's a great website for old Irish films A face. I found film of Pat's v Waterford in the 1959 cup final there before. There's some film of games at Shelbourne park there too, which would be very rare. that film you linked to proves that there was once a roof over the Connaught St side in 'Dallymount' as they called it!
