It's easy to lose it with these guys though, blatantly disregarding the LOI. They are the ones losing out so fcuk em.

Dion Fanning at it now in the Sunday Independent. Dreadful article
http://www.independent.ie/sport/socc...e-2672635.html
I thought he was a LoI fan?
What was actually the point of that article? Oh poor Dion is bored? Gimme a break.
On a bus to work this morning heard one half of a conversation between a passenger and the driver
We were passing Turners Cross and I assume the driver had asked the passenger if he went out to City games
“I haven’t been out there in years, I’d say the last time I was there my brother was in goal for Rockmount against City that’s how long its been”
“Its very expensive anyway, I mean I assume its very expensive. I’d rather save for my season ticket for United anyway”
He then went on to talk about how he and his brothers had season tickets and would go to two or three games a season and sell the rest off to their friends and basically get to go to games for free.
So not only is he a barstooler, hes a tout on top of that.
You're telling me I'm not a Shels fans? Just as I made the arsey comment about the cost of my season ticket at Celtic to someone who called me a bar stooler without knowing me, do you know me enough to make that claim? I've went to my first game at the RDS against Rovers when Ray Treacy was their manager and I've been going whenever I can ever since. I played in the fans v legends games last summer at Tolka, perhaps you played in it as well, I was the sexy left back that day
See what I mean though, LOI fans just throw insults and have this holier-than-thou I'm-a-better-football-fan-than-you attitude to anyone who doesn't subscribe to the undiluted doctrine of hate Celtic and the GAA. Sheer moronic ignorance and the attitude that most ordinary people despise and apart of the reason why so few people join your little sect.
.....and slightly off topic....what a pure west brit newspaper (apologies any Anglo cousins). Believing naievly when I bought the Sunday Indo that surely there will be some sort of LoI coverage, I find a large write up on the state of the USA Rugby team !! I won't go on....!
What pis's people off about your post is how you declare how much you paid for your season ticket, and belittling those who didn't pay it.Originally Posted by TiocfaidhArmani

Nor have I 650 Euro to splash out on watching a 2 team league every year. Frankly, there's better value and contests in the LOI for half the price.
As for the football "theatre" you speak of, it resembles a theatre for 2 games a year, at some ungodly police-driven hour. The rest of the time, it's barely half-full, as average Celtic fans haven't got 650 quid to watch bi-weekly training sessions against the teams I've already stated. If you have, good luck to you.
As a Celtic fan, I hope they win the league, but if they don't, I'm not exactly devastated. I know because of the league set-up, they'll win it again soon enough. In the LOI, refs are not attacked for getting decisions wrong and players are not attacked in the street for playing in the "wrong" jumper, fans don't sing about 300-year old history, while coach's don't get death threats in the post. There are more peaceful ways of enjoying football.

So tell me, why is it alright for EPL, SPL followers and Barcelona, Real, AC, whatever fans in Ireland, to be allowed to criticise the LOI, put down every club in the league as sh**e, terrible football, etc, but it's not alright for fans of the teams in this league to be a little patriotic about their own clubs, and league and put down the so called die-hard Irish fans who have this opinion on the league without even giving it a chance.
I think the most important thing is to get rid of the view on both sides of the debate that you can't follow a LOI club and a foreign one. It's perfectly natural to be interested in the top players in the world, and to want to watch them do their thing. However, the LOI needs to show people that it is a completely different product, that offers things you just can't get following a foreign side. Whether there is any practical way of doing this is another question.
I emailed him about the article and suggested that he should offer the LOI as the 'cure' to withdrawal symptoms.
Lo and blah blah blah...he emailed me back....
"Thanks for your email which contained many valid points.
I live in England, write about international, English and European football and in this context wrote a piece about the end of those seasons and the effect this has on me.
I will try your suggested cure and I take on board your case about the LOI.
Thanks,
Dion"
Attendances will be going through the roof.
