New Site new Squad Profiles

Guys,

We are putting the final touches to the new club site.
Part of this is a questionnaire for all players.
E.g. favourite tv program etc.

But we want some different questions than the bog standard.

Please post your thoughts.

Come on Lads, ye are alwas moaning about the website and programme not being updated, no good infor on it etc... this is your chance to help make it better... Any suggestions and questions are welcomed

It'd be good to see a bio on the players, listing all the clubs they played for from junior level up.

Also, for the program, it'd be interesting to see match reports from the corresponding match 10 or 20 or whatever years ago.

That's more like it Jon

We have a few new feature pages this season and have also revamped a few current pages.

Some of them will be - Blast from the Past, Reeling in the Wanderers Years, Garden County Focus and Around the League, In Profile, Up Close and Personal.

As mentioned in a previous post, we are looking for people to become involved in writing for the website and match day programme, if your are interested lads just drop us a PM. This could be a general article or a player interview - access to the players won't be a problem.

One thing I would like is for the site to work properly on firefox, but other than that I have no problems.

Maybe for the programme and website you could have a feature where you bring a former Wanderers player (or any guest of honour) to the Carlisle, let them watch the game, present them at half time, and get a report or an interview from them for the next programme, or the website. It'd be the sort of thing you could probably get into the Wicklow People as well.

"Blast from the Past" will be similar to that, it will be a feature on the player in question from years gone by, feature will include action shots etc... Maybe we could look at inviting them along to the game too...

In relation to Firefox, that won't be a problem with the new site, it will work in all major browsers AFAIK

Unless it's Tarzan...he'll probably be there anyway!

Don't overlook the zombie question, it'd be good to have something humourous and slightluu off the wall for the last question.

Don't worry about cross browser compatibility that is a given (can't guarantee it will be compatible with all versions of IE though) (the splash page works as far back as IE5).
I will even be testing it on Iphone and Ipad (although fully expecting issues on the Ipad)
We are looking upon the site as a long term project and even have coveritlive setup so hopefully we will have live match reports for all games. To name just one of the new features....

It's on the way, taking longer than expected due to a few build issues, we also had to take all the umbro stuff down and rebrand it with Adidas. Didn't think there was in putting it live until it is right and were happy with it plus its all being done voluntary and in spare time so its gone on longer than expected but these things can't be helped, hopefully it will be worth the wait...
