I wouldn't believe what you read in the papers!![]()
Kingdom, I meant that Foley could retain his place in CM alongside Andrews. As an alternative Fahey could play with Andrews.
Gibson would come into contention against Macedonia.
I think Foley, Fahey and Andrews would all have something to play for against Scotland. A good showing could easily put them into the Macedonia team. Andrews especially.
That's part of our problem, we still have too many possibles and not enough probables for quite a few positions.
I'm fairly sure Kingdom is Ciaran Clark so this would be the perfect opportunity for these lads to settle their differences. The doc seems like the forgiving type.
There's no settling to be done. The Doc is gonna languish in either the fizzy league or get rejected by Boro again, while I, er Clark (yes that'll do) will be riding high with Mr Benitez in the Premier League. He likes a bit of versatility and tends to have a fairly flexible policy on selection so I, er Ciaran, should be sorted for a few games next season.
Huzzah!
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!
That's cold Ciaran, very cold. But I can appreciate the Keane-like ruthlessness in adding insult to injury.
Incidentally, my keen detective sense has also identified DannyInvincible as none other than Daniel Kearns. The air of personal victory in his dissection of the CAS ruling was both palpable and telling, triumphalism buried in every torrent of hard fact. The sense of invunerability in his chosen moniker typical of one who has single-handedly defeated an entire association of people.
I'm working on the tentative hypothesis that Paul O'Shea is the mighty Black Pearl himself but have yet to fully join the dots.
To be honest, I cannot see him failing to pick Andrews now. He knows him, trusts him, and provided he's fit surely will go with him. If Whelan is fit, he's a cert also, and same with McGeady, so really it's a toss up between any of Coleman, Lawrence, Fahey, Hunt and Treacy for the remaining position, be it the left or right of midfield.
As farneyman says, it's a problem.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!
'ooh ahh Paul O'Shea'
at least it sorta rhymes but reason is in doubt.
Injury woes for the Scots.
Getting injured after turning up is a refreshing adaptation in the week that's in it.
With Caldwell ruled out, the chances of one our lot getting crippled are radically reduced.
Who's to say I'm not Daniel Devine? Just putting it out there, although I see how it might be perceived as deflecting suspicions.
Funnily enough, my username is a play on the name of former Australian Kilmarnock "star", Danny Invincibile, for no other reason than I thought a slight tweaking of the surname and combining it with our shared first name made me sound like some sort of cool superhero, but then I realised Danny Invincibile's career never really took off, he probably isn't as well-known as I thought, meaning most would miss the reference in jest, and, as a consequence, I probably just come across a smug tw*t. I used it as a username on Wikipedia when I used to update Irish football articles quite a bit and had a bit of a run-in with some on there who felt the name was too similar to their already-existing article on the main man himself, but I was eventually allowed to run with it, in spite of it apparently giving the impression I was possessed with a "slight arrogance". It's a terror living up to!
I've been nosing about for some info on Macedonia's preparations and found this squad announcement on the Football Federation of Macedonia website.
It seems we're the first visitors to their shiny new abode. Problems at right back for them.National team coach Mirsad Coach called 18 players for the 2012 EURO qualifying game against Ireland at home. Among them is finally Bajram Fetai who was left out from the previous games for unknown reasons.
The Macedonian coach made several changes from the last squad that faced Ireland away and lost 2:1. No call for midfielders Darko Tasevski and Slavco Georgievski, defender Igor Mitreski and striker Stevica Ristić who is injured. Again Jonuz showed his stubborness after didn't call any right back so most probably central defender Vance Sikov will be forced to sacrifice himself. After his great performances for Vojvodina, Daniel Mojsov is back in the squad, while surprisingly there is also Aco Stojkov from the Swiss second league side Aarau.
