When will tickets be available for these games. Could be tough to get one for the Spurs game if it's in Tallaght

Rubin have won just one of their last nine European away games (W1 D3 L5 in that spell), beating FC Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 in this season's UEFA Europa League third qualifying round first leg.

Thought I'd give this thread a bump. Does anyone want to predict a score for tonight? I think Rovers will battle hard but Rubin will win 1-0

1-0 or 2-0 for me. Rovers have done well against the bigger sides in the last couple of years - FC Kobenhavn and Juve - but have never really looked like taking anything from the games once the opposition got going. Reckon it'll be similar here.

2-0 defeat. If you're a Rovers fan you'd have to be over the moon with a draw.

And on the day that's in it, UEFA have revealed the prize money structure for this year. E640k just for getting to the groups, plus E60k per game. There's an extra E70k if Rovers draw any game, and E140k if they manage a win. So say they pick up one point, that's still E1.07m - not counting TV rights, gate receipts, sponsorship, extra merchandise sales, etc.

I'm all optimistic for a narrow 1-0 win on this historic day.

I'm going to watch it in a pub in Voronezh (an Irish pub of course with nary an Irish person in sight). My other half is a Rovers fan, she also supports Rubin, but tonight is donning a Rovers shirt she bought at the club shop back in August. Yes, I'm slightly ashamed, but I'll cheer for Rovers and have a feeling that it could be 0-0. Which means a long nights dirnking ahead. Just to draw a parallel, it's the same pub I watched the return leg with Partizan in - history and all that.

I think the TV money is factored into the prize money? I'm open to correction of course.

Reckon Shams might keep it scoreless to half time despite being battered into the goals, then Rubin will score in 2nd half and win.

Could be right actually. Don't TV channels just buy rights en masse for the groups? So drawing Spurs won't give a big TV bonus.

Still, nice cash if you can get it.

Looking forward to this. Will be rushing out of here at 4 and hopefully into the stadium for 5.30 to get a decent spot in the East stand. Lovely warm day for it, a draw would be great. Hopefully the nerves don't get to Rovers and no early goals conceded.

On another point, I think the fact there was still 500 tickets available last night proves the wisdom of pushing for Tallaght. The Aviva would have resulted in a massive loss overall and would have been absolutely soulless with 8,000 people there.

thats exactly how I thought it worked. TV rights have been negotiated in advance, hence TV3/Setanta? have the rights for Ireland and RTÉ couldn't jump on the bandwagon. Every team then gets the same money and theres no financial bonus from a TV point of view for getting a Spurs over say Copenhagen again (I have no idea if Copenhagen are top seeds, just an example)

  19. Thanks From:

Yes indeed, it also reflects that

    (a) Non-LOI fans haven't suddenly turned into LOI fans and
    (b) The fact that Rovers drew two not-very-well-known teams in their group is a bit of a downer. I was hoping they'd get a Belgian and/or Dutch club. PSV Eindhoven coming to town for example would've drawn a bigger crowd.

Anyway, Best of Luck Rovers, we're all behind ye.

Kazan rightly favourites. Irish football had historic wins in major competitions in '88 and '94. Hopefully Rovers against the odds can have one of those historic wins tonight.
Hopeful prediction: 1-0 win for Rovers.
