Will the Shamrock Rovers game be available online anywhere? I'm abroad in America and would love to watch it tomorrow!

Presume the Sligo Rovers game will be available online? Hope so.

I was here and annoying everyone well before you kingdom

I'm only a blow in, but looking forward to the next couple of days hopefully get to see both of the games - that are being televised.

The weeks of july I always look forward to from a football point of view, especially now that LOI sides results are improving year on year( i mean clubs, not just 1 or 2 individual teams) consistently and more clubs progressing further

Heard on Sky sports news that if Rangers fail to overturn 1 nil defeat next week that they are out of Europe for this season, so as they are in the same round as Rovers and I heard if Rovers loose they will go into Europa League playoffs.

So whats the story, who's right & will rovers be in the playoff round of Europa League should they lose to FC Copenhagen?

    Sky Sports are wrong

Losers of this round, go into Europa league play off round

Losers in the next champions league round go directly into group stages of Europa League

Sky Sports shows the Champions League, therefore the Champions League IS Europe. The Europa league does not exist.

Didn't the Champions League rebrand the same year as the Premier League launched? 1992 seems to be the year a fledgling sport called 'football' got its big break alright. I don't think anyone even played it before that.

Getting to this round was a good result by Rovers. If they were to get the next round it would be a fantastic result. It's hard to look past Copenhagen, prediction: 2-0. I hope I'm wrong and that Rovers can at least get an away goal and have the tie alive going into the second leg. While the prize last week was a guaranteed 4 European games, getting through this round will guarantee 8 games as the losers of the play-offs have the EL group stage as a safety net.

    A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined. First Division '14: 7 first teams.
Opportunity lost for new clubs/regions to join the LoI family.

Big test alright, but we can't go into the game assuming it's already lost. We have to go and give it a go. Other LOI teams have beaten "superior" Scandinavian opposition before, and these guys are not going to win the competition. Apoel Nicosia went there 2 years ago, lost the away leg but won the tie, so they're not invincible. Hard task certainly, but this is what you wait 9 months for, the chance to test yourself at the highest level in the club game. I am confident we'll put up a creditable display.

By all accounts from the various media sources, all concerned sound confident. Which is always refreshing to hear from Irish sides.

Anyway good luck to all teams, if even 1 of 3 get a good result over the next couple of days it will be an achievement.

Ye and its normally followed by a hammering and a press conference saying it was a big step up in class.

As a pats fan, your modesty is appealing, aren't elfsborg better than copenhagen OR a derry fan, goteburg better than copenhagen

Not in the last few years. Even a 2-0 aggregate loss for ye would not be a bad result. Its still a learning curve, and at some stage an Irish side has to get that bit of luck in the draw, which over the last few years when you look where pats have ended up(and the opposition) and others it just hasn't happened.

The most important thing, and frustrating is Irish sides not conceding any stupid/basic schoolboy errors taht cost goals i.e. almost all teams managed by Pat Fenlon. Once that has been eradicated, Irish sides always come away looking decent. I honestly believe that those kinda stupid silly mistakes are the easy stick which non loi fans always use to beat the LOI with - and of course its almost always only those things they see....

Presume he put "superior" like that meaning Irish teams have beaten "so called superior Scandinavian teams"

There's no doubt Danish clubs are a step up from Swedish sides.
