Am I right in thinking that Pats and Sligo both got Ukrainian sides?

I like the attitude of all concerned at Sligo, that its about winning and getting through to the next round rather than the more amateurish, negative get a big team. Plenty of time to get big teams if you keep progressing.

Hopefully that attitude carries onto the pitch and pays off and they get through to the next round.

Re. that RTE report: Aren't Glentoran way in the second leg? And it's The Oval, not 'Oval Park'. (I remember a great report from there once: 'And it's all square at the Oval'...

Indeed.. If we manage to get past the Kazahks we should be heading to Ukraine at the same time as Sligo... Unless one of the ties ends up getting reverse

I hope Bohs can turn their tie around as they have good opponents in the next round, while the 2 Ukranian sides are beatable for Sligo and Pats. I'd love to see all clubs go through (not forgetting Rovers of course).

Ukrainian sides are not beatable, IF we get there both us and Sligo will be beaten comfortably

Speak for yourself I feel Rovers can certainly get a result away and win it at the Showgrounds. Curious to know why you feel that a team that can only get a 2-0 win against a makeshift team (most on holidays) will walk all over Sligo Rovers with such ease.

Ya but they had two clear chances at the end one that went right over the bar, and no excuses, its like they get into the position and like a schoolboy get over excited and ejaculate prematurely.

Was it robinson that hit it over the bar, he def had a chance earlier on if it wasn't him who hit it over the bar, i remember watching thinking how the fcuk did he miss that. Though they should have been 1-3 in that anyway.

I'm sure you would have thought the same thing about Russian sides and we all remember what happened there

Just seen there that the two Ukrainian cities are miles apart from each other, should both teams be there the same week.
Still, it should bring a few Ukrainian babes into Sligo/Inchicore area for the home legs

Yeah the mad *******s were bringing crates of Guinness into their dressing room before the game We got very very lucky against them

Harleyleeds, They beat Glentoran 2-0 away, They probably never left first gear (I didn't see any of the game so I don't no) and they will probably spank them 4 or 5 at home

I really hope I'm wrong but I don't see either Pats or Sligo getting through if we both get to play the Ukrainian teams

Some very tough draws. At least if Rovers get through, they'll be guaranteed a crack at the Europa League group stages if Copenhagan prove too much.

Too right. The thing is, European ties will always draw a larger crowd than the usual at league games regardless of opponent. The publicity of a "big tie" might increase a club's exposure in the national media for a week, but it does nothing in the long-term. Nobody cares after that. Where did all those Shels "fans" go that filled Lansdowne for the Deportivo game a few years ago, for example? What good did that ever do Shels?

Was always going to be them. They were the farthest team from Dublin in Pats' draw, after all.

That's the attitude! It's this kind of positive thinking which makes following the League of Ireland such a consistent joy!

If Pats get through, what would be the feasibility of jointly chartering a flight?..They could drop Pats off in Lvov and then head on to Poltava with Sligo :-)
