In other Irish involvement last night, I see Lee Trundle gave Neath the lead, only for them to lose 4-1. They were away to Aalesund, I think.

After seeing it again from a better angle on TV3, it was never a penalty. Also, did someone not say here that IBV were heading for a 1200 sellout? They had a couple, they didn't even have half that

A thng to note about those 2 Rogers saves is that they were in the space of 30 seconds of each other

Two amazing saves and it did look like a peno to me - but what the hell was the def doing there anyway. Hopefully Pats can do the business next week and I'm home to watch it - 3-0 will do nicelyShud be beating a team like this in all honesty.
Went to see Fulham play yesterday, like a training session but Duff was very good on his first game back. Good crowd there too, and the Faroes had a few hotties. (typical Nordics blondes - what a disappointment when the Crusaders freckly support arrives in town!)

Trophy Manager - online football managment game - I like it - I think I'm getting obsessed with it though.
Definite penalty! two excellent saves from Rogers though, I'll be hoping the Saints get it right next week!
I hope the Saints bounce back from last week and get the result they need to get through to the next round.

There's an article in the Indo about Mahon fearing Irish clubs are slipping behind European rivals, believing that the reversion to part-time football at most Airtricity League clubs has seen a drop-off in standards and as a result he reckons expectations need to be lowered.

But only on the basis of results made by Pats 2 and 3 years ago. Our club ranking is a little bit false in that respect
LOI isn't that far ahead of Icelandic league. I think the last time clubs met from these countries a good Shels side was beaten 3-0 home & away
I'm still expecting us to beat them on Thursday though (as is Mahon)

Cork beat Valur from Iceland 2-1 on aggregate in the Intertoto Cup (2007). Cork won the first leg in Iceland 2-0.
Shels also beat KR in the champions league en route to the depor tie. It was on away goals though.
