Yet Fram were heroic runners up to Basel only losing 5-3 in the round before?

Curious that IBV should state a sterling figure for tickets to fans from a Euro zone country.

Possibly they are trying to raise next months payments for their few English players

I was just using Hibs' previously used definition of a 'hammering', fact!
I didn't comment one way or another about Fram's heroism, double fact!

You should know better than to make stuff up based on reading between the lines

The sporttv.is website is also charging in sterling for their stream

The Icelandic krona is particularly weak against the pound at the moment so I assume that's the reason. I'm sure it's handy for the government too since they're basically just sending it all back to the British government.

The football season is short, mid May to early Sept with a long pre-season.
12 teams, 22 games, 8 have been played so far, IBV are in second place, W5 d1 L2.

Those baxstards aren't getting anything yet.
The Kronur has been stable since it collapsed in 2008

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

No. Shame we don't have it.
Wouldn't mind having the eth (Ğ, ğ) and ash (Æ, æ) as well.

The English alphabet is incredibly boring.

6 games in a group stage however, gives us unprecedented media exposure at home and abroad, for 3 months of the year. People will notice.
It will be 6 games alright but it needs to be on a consistent enough basis over a few years for people to take notice. Shel's had a one-off good season in Europe but did not back it up. I haven't seen any Irish club back up one good run with another.

    A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined. First Division '14: 7 first teams.
Opportunity lost for new clubs/regions to join the LoI family.

Only 6 times have an irish team won 2 European ties in the same season, including that Shels side.

Pats did it in 2008 and 2009

Anyway, it cost 1,500 krona to stream the IVB/pats game if anyone's interested. I'll be watching it in McDowells

It was reported the other day that Pats had intended to send somebody to watch IBV's recent home game, but after consideration about the last leg of the journey to the islands, the scouting trip was cancelled. That sort of report brings a wry smile to an Icelander, who wouldn't give up so easily.

A blow to IBV's chances is to lose their playmaker, Ian Jeffs. He picked up a 3 game Euro ban in 2005 for a straight red and still has a game to serve. It was only reported today, I guess most everybody had forgotten about it.

Our chief scour was supposed to head to IBV's game on Friday. While Pete said it was travellig time, it was a combination of price and value.

Did IBV send someone to Ireland geysir?

A village team on a remote island close to arctic circle send a scout over to Ireland?
Anyway that's not the point, a difference in perception of what constitutes a day to day challenge is the issue.
But if they had made the decision and thought it worthwhile to send a man, he would have made it.
The Faroese would expect no less from Brian Kerr.

Again, the decision wasn't made. They thought about it, but the main stumbling block was the cost. Regardless of the line spun by Pete in the press conference on Friday

That's obviously something Pats can take as a source of motivation. IBV didn't deem it necessary to scout them - very disrespectful. Village team, remote island, Arctic Circle or not.
