I wouldn't go so far as to say they're not beatable, but both Ukrainian sides will be strong favourites, and rightly so.

Both Poltava and Karpaty Lvov are well beatable. Ukrainian teams ain't all that. (Obviously,Sh Donetsk, Dinamo are a level above) I'd bet on Sligo, anyway. St Pats, less so.

I'm actually going to Ukraine the day after those ties!

Harleyleeds, They beat Glentoran 2-0 away, They probably never left first gear (I didn't see any of the game so I don't no) and they will probably spank them 4 or 5 at home

I really hope I'm wrong but I don't see either Pats or Sligo getting through if we both get to play the Ukrainian teams
u could be right but its pure conjecture on your behalf and no doubt Glens wont turn up for 2nd leg so wouldnt read anything into that. Hopefully they will assume Rovers are just as weak as Glens and we sneak a goal away and then who knows. Bigger pitch will suit us as well so I say be positive . It will also be good for us if the Ukranians feel like you and write us off as no hopers so that gives me a little more confidence. I really think we got a better draw than getting Hearts.

I hope your right and I would gladly eat humble pie were Pats and Sligo both to win*

*Of course I don't actually care how Sligo do and only care about our result
    Here on a technicality.

If I was putting money on the team Rovers would have been drawn against, I'd have put it on Copenhagan. I've been intrigued by the Danish league as their top flight contains 12 teams playing over 3 series. Similar in some ways to how the Premier used to be run. In my opinion the Danes run the system a bit better, rewarding the top 6 with the extra home game the following season. They are currently making moves to have their second tier run under the same format instead of 16 teams over 2 series.

On the game itself, if Rovers get through first I must stress, we don't want another TNS, if Rovers get through to the 3rd qualifying round, I think they'll be bowing out of the Champions League and into the Europa play-offs safety net. The Danes should bring over good support. I happened to be in London last March when they were in the city to take on Chelsea.

You wouldn't be happy with the marking for either of those goals. Was that North on the tall bloke who scored the first?

Have you seen either of these teams play the last season? Unfortunately I've had to, they're nothing special and a good, well set out side can do a number on them. Pats and Sligo have good enough managers and players to get a result - Samara were not on a beer as everyone claimed, they were a club in trouble, yet when the pressure came on they couldn't go that extra step. In Ukraine there are 2 very good sides, and 1 or 2 more decent ones, neither of these are in that group. Have faith, running down chances before kick off is so GAA.

**** right off we got into 3 rounds twice, we know when we are ****ed and its this round, they are all better than us.

If we beat kazak lads we will be beaten by the Ukrainians because they are better than us. Positive thinking my arse, with experience comes knowledge that they are better than us!

and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.

Some team shels had back then.

Shelbourne»: Burn, Flood, Bready, Nevel, Welan, Dooline, Mooney, Costello, Dally (Izzi, 58), О’Doherty, Raserford.

Drogheda came within a post of beating Kiev. But Pats are automatically out if they have to play Ukrainians???

If you lose, you lose. But you're never supposed to just give up.

I saw Vorskla playing twice - once in Donetsk and once in Zaporozhye. They were not at Shaktar's level but slightly above Zap's (Zapoozhye had yer man that used to play for Bohs - Mindaugas Kalonas - at the time)

Voskla also got battered 5-0 against Benfica at this stage of the UEFA cup 3 or 4 years ago.

    Sligo could do them.

The matches from last season I picked up on local tv, you're right, they're nothing special, but it's the mentality when you go out to play them. Shels went out against a pretty average Hajduk team a few years ago, got stuck in and won. THen they went out to keep it respectable against Deportivo and lost. Not saying they could have won, but a bit of ambition goes a long way.
